Shri Brihad Bharatiya Samaj Scholarships
Shri Brihad Bharatiya Samaj offers Scholarships for the Indian students
and overseas students of Indian origin, undergoing full-time Degree
courses in Indian Universities and IITs.
Scholarships will open from 15 July 2012 .
Eligibility for Shri Brihad Bharatiya Samaj Scholarships 2012
1. Minimum of 70% marks for First year students
2. Rest with minimum 60% marks in their last University examination.
3. Female students studying in first year and above for Nursing and
Education [minimum of 45% marks] are eligible.
4. Guardian’s total annual income should not exceed 60,000
5. Applicants should satisfy the following conditions:
a) They must possess a First Class degree with a recognized Indian
University and have consistently First Class academic record right from
SSC examination.
b) They must have secured admission, or should have at least applied for
admission, in reputable foreign universities.
c) The age of students at the time of application should not be above 27
years.
Annual income should be Less than Rs.60,000/- and Students in receipt
of Scholarships from the Central Government Scholarships in India or
State Government Scholarships in India or University Scholarships in
India, Colleges Scholarships in India will not be eligible.
Candidates studying in the Final Year of the degree are also eligble to
apply provided they produce their final year certificate before end of June.

STUDENTS OF SCHEDULED CASTS /SCHEDULED TRIBES
Background
1. Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr.B.R.Ambedkar is represented is respected
all over the country for fighting for the welfare of poor and, downtrodden
and weaker sections. He made significant contribution in Nation building.
Scholarship provided by the Maharaja of Baroda was of considerable
significance in the life o and achievements of Baba Saheb. With a view to
recognise merit and encourage and motivate students, it is proposed to
PRAVIN YADAV Page 31www.Diplomarocks.webs.com provide a one-time cash award to the meritorious students of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) for pursuing higher studies. 2. The scheme would be known as Dr.Ambedkar National Scholarship Scheme 3. This scheme would be implemented by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, set up under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in 1992. NO.OF SCHOLARSHIP : 1The Ambedkar National Scholarship will be given to three students scoring highest marks in the regular Class X level examination conducted by the Education Board/Council. This will be separate for Scheduled casts and Scheduled Tribes. In case none of the first three eligible students are girls, the girl student scoring the highest marks will get a special award. 2Thus for each of 26 Boards, there shall be four award for SC i.e. 104 awards and likewise another 104 awards for STs. In case more than one student scoring the same marks, the number of awards would be accordingly increased for covering all such eligible students. 3.As per 1991 census, 250 no. of special merit scholarship @ Rs.10, 000/- each will be awarded to the next highest scoring student after first, second and third position attained by SC/ST students. This will be in addition to the awards indicated at para 2 above. AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP The scholarship will be given as one- time grant as per the following norms: - 1. Student securing highest marks Rs.60, 000/- 2. Student securing 2 nd highest marks Rs.50, 000/- 3. Student securing 3 rd highest marks Rs.40, 000/- 4. Total Rs.1,90,000/- (Per Board/Council)
This award amount will be payable over any other scholarship/award.
Selection Procedure:
The Board / Council conducting the examination would send details of the
students (name, address, family income, percentage of marks, school last
attended, nearest bank etc.) within 15 days of the announcement of the
examination result, with copy to the Secretary, Education Dept. of the
concerned State Government. For family income a certificate given by the
father or principal should suffice. The award money would be sent to the
students in the form of an Account Payee bank draft by registered post
under intimation to the Board / Council.

LIC Scholarship
SCHEME OF ‘LIC GOLDEN JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP’ FOR
STUDENTS BELONGING TO THE ECONOMICALLY WEAKER
FAMILIES FOR PURSUING HIGHER STUDIES.
1. OBJECTIVE :
The objective of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious
students belonging to economically weaker sections of society so as to
provide them better opportunities for higher education increase their rate
of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability.
PRAVIN YADAV Page 33www.Diplomarocks.webs.com 2. SCOPE: The scholarship is to be awarded for studies in India in a government or private college/university,. It will also cover technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) of classes at Graduation level. 3. ELIGIBILITY : Students who have passed Class XII exam or its equivalent in the Academic Year 2010-11 and are interested to pursue higher education in the field of i) Medicine, Engineering, Graduation, in any discipline, Diploma Course in any field or other equivalent courses. ii) Vocational Courses through Government recognized Colleges/Institutes or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI). For i) above Candidates who have passed Class XII exam or equivalent in the Academic year 2010-11 with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade and annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed ` 60,000/ per annum. For ii) above The basic educational qualification is relaxed to Class X or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the Academic year 2011 subject to income ceiling of parents/guardians. 4. DURATION : Scholarship shall be provided for the entire course. 5. RATE OF SCHOLARSHIP : 10,000/- per annum, ` 1000/ payable monthly for ten months by Cheques to the Beneficiary. PRAVIN YADAV Page 34

CONDITIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP : (i) Scholarship shall be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 60% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs.60,000/ per annum. Students having the lowest family income shall be given preference in the ascending order. (ii) The scholarship shall be discontinued if a student fails to secure 50% in B.A./B.COM. and 55% marks in other streams or equivalent grade, in the previous final examination of the course for which scholarship is awarded. Scholarship shall not be awarded for more than the normal period of time taken to obtain certificate/degree. (iii) Scholarship shall not be given to more than one student in a family. (iv) The students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick shall be decided by the competent authority of the school/college/university. (v) Income certificate should be on self-certification basis by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper for self-employed parents and from employer for employed parents supported by documents such as land held by revenue department in the name of parents. (vi) If a student violates any other term and condition of the scholarship, the scholarship may be suspended or cancelled. (vii) If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement/certificates, his/her scholarship shall be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid shall be recovered, at the discretion of the concerned Divisional Administration of LIC. (viii) LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation will lay down the detailed procedure for processing and sanctioning of scholarships to eligible students. (ix) The scheme shall be evaluated at regular intervals by the LICGJF. (x) The regulations can be changed at any time at the discretion of the Board of Trustees of LICGJF PRAVIN YADAV Page 35

RENEWAL OF SCHOLARSHIP: The scholarship, once awarded, may be renewed during the next academic year of the course on the production of certificate that the student has secured 50% in B.A./B.COM. and 55% marks in other streams or equivalent grade in the examination. 8. MODE OF APPLYING Only online applications are to be submitted through the link on the Home page. Once online application is submitted, the candidate will get acknowledgement at the email ID provided by him in his online application. Further correspondence will be made by the Divisional Office which is mentioned in the acknowledgement mail. Bank Account details and MICR number are not compulsory at this stage.
