DIRECTOR’S NOTE: COVID-19 Booster Information: The original COVID-19 vaccination series continues to be highly effective at reducing the severe disease, hospitalization and death caused by COVID-19. However, experts are beginning to see that protection against mild to moderate disease can fade over time. Currently, per the CDC, if you previously got 2 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, you can get a booster shot of the same vaccine at least 6 months after you complete your second dose of the Pfizer vaccine and are in a certain group of people. The CDC currently strongly recom- mends a booster for people 65+, are in a long term facility and have underlying medical conditions. CASE MANAGER’S NOTE: FYI- Medicare Open Enrollment will run from October 15 through December 7. Please call Mary Kay Sutter at the Senior Center to set up an appointment to review your Medicare D Prescription Drug Plan. Plans can change yearly; may not cover current medication, cost can go up or there could be restrictions on medications. Share your experience!
