Registration
Places on this course are limited and likely to be in demand, so you are encouraged to register
soon to avoid disappointment. A place on the course will only be guaranteed once your
registration payment has been received by the Department of Health (see box below).

We encourage everyone interested in mosquito management to register their interest, but in
the event the course is at capacity, priority will be given to Western Australian local
governments and other agencies, and with a possible limit on the number of participants from
  each organisation.

Registration will close on 19 August 2022 or earlier if the course fills to capacity.

Course Registration for the week is $1210.00 (incl. GST), which includes lunches and
morning/afternoon teas. Do not pay now. The Department of Health will send an invoice once your
completed registration form has been received. Please note, there is a cancellation fee of $100.00

Registered course participants will be contacted during August with further details of the course
timetable and what they need to bring.

  Accommodation
You are encouraged to stay at the course venue (The Sebel Mandurah) for social and
professional interaction however, some participants may choose to arrange accommodation
elsewhere or commute to the venue each day.
Accommodation at the Sebel Mandurah includes Studio rooms. Prices for accommodation are
set per room and can accommodate a king bed or twin share.

You may wish to organise to share your room with another participant to save on
accommodation costs. The Department of Health can provide details of other participants who
are happy to share rooms. Please let us know if you would like to share accommodation and we
will add you to our list.

You will require accommodation for either four or five nights, depending on whether you intend to
travel to Mandurah on the Sunday evening or Monday morning (course registration will be at
  10:00am on Monday 5 September).

Accommodation bookings/payment must be made directly to the Sebel Mandurah. Please
contact the Sebel to make a room booking on 08 9512 8300 and state that you are attending the
Mosquito Management Course. Alternatively complete the attached accommodation booking
form and once completed return it directly to the Sebel Mandurah.
Meals
The course registration fee includes lunches and morning/afternoon teas. A course dinner will be
provided on one night, but you will need to budget for other dinners.

Travel to Mandurah
The course will be held at The Sebel Mandurah and will run from 10.00am on Monday 5
September 2022 to approximately 2.00pm on Friday 9 September 2022. The start and finish
times of the course allow time for travel to and from Mandurah. If you are unable to organise
your own transport to Mandurah, please contact medical.entomology@health.wa.gov.au and it
may be possible for us or another participant to assist you.

Microscopes
It is important to maximise the number of binocular dissecting microscopes and light sources
available for mosquito identification exercises, as this allows participants greater “hands-on” time
during practical identification sessions. Please indicate on the registration form if you are
able to bring a microscope and light source with you. The microscope should have a
magnification range of approximately 7x to 40x. If you are in any doubt about the suitability of
your microscope, please ask for advice.

Typical binocular microscope used during the Mosquito Management Course.
