Education a Equipment Funding Announced We recently received the wonderful news that FightMND had approved our equipment funding applications to the tune of $150,000. This new equipment is desperately needed by our clients to support their quality of life, allowing them to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. This year the funding was limited to ventilation and assistive technology equipment, but these are pricey pieces of technology, so we are very grateful for the new additions. The equipment started arriving shortly after the announcement and the remaining items will be available to clients by the end of May. We have been f unded for t he fol low ing; 14 x Resmed Lumis 150-ST Non invasive ventilation machines which are vital to assist our clients with breathing both at night and during the day. We have already allocated 3 of these new machines. 7 x Cough Assist Machines which help our clients remove stubborn mucus when cough and diaphragm muscles deteriorate. Two of these new machines have already been allocated to clients. Loads of assistive technology for the CATS team to use when making modifications to wheelchairs, beds and house hold modifications; including some Tobii Eye Mobiles, just like Professor Yerbury uses. MNDAWA would like to express our gratitude to FightMND for supporting our association and clients with funding for new equipment once again.
