Friends Basket Auction After much discussion and thought on behalf of our Friends of the Library Group and Library Board of Trustees it has been decided to cancel this year’s Friends Basket Auction. Our Friends Group gifted the library $6,225.25 this year which is earmarked to purchase books, DVDs and other items for our collections. These funds will be allocated over the next 2 years for purchases. We also have approximately $2,000.00 of funds remaining from their gift of $2,500.00 in August 2019 to use for programming costs. Community donations were received this summer to cover costs associated with our revamped summer reading program and at this time it is unknown when we will begin to offer in house programming. We deeply appreciate the support of our donors over the many years and our community members who support our auction with their purchases. We also recognize and are sensitive to the fact that this is a difficult year for many of our donors. In this ever-changing time, we would also like to ensure the safety of the many Friends and staff members who work countless hours putting our auction together along with ensuring the safety of our patrons who visit the library.
