If you need lease paperwork please send me an email and we can get you a form. Facebook follow suggestions for this month - last month I had a farm and an organization that I recommended people follow on Facebook. This month my Facebook features are Ideal Dairy and King Brothers Dairy. Ideal Dairy is our 2019 NY State Holstein Picnic Host and not only do they do a great job of sharing what is happening at their farm but they also post KELLY REYNOLDS industry news, fun ways to incorporate dairy in your diet, and more! Perhaps a stop you could visit while you’re out for the picnic is King Brothers Dairy. The Spring Carousel-wow! Have a safe and productive May! left off the sale order, someone not making it in the Until next time, Kelly catalog, someone complaining about the dates of the show. Instead of focusing on the hundreds of things that went right during the week I dwell on the 10 things that went wrong. Why do we do this to ourselves? Instead of being thankful for the sunny days we complain about the rainy day. We use our bad days to ruin our good ones. I think we as a dairy community can work on this. I find myself jumping to the negatives instead starting with the positives. I’m not saying to not learn from our mistakes and missteps but why do we stay there and dwell on them instead of celebrating our successes even more? After a long winter the sunshine and warmer weather can make any day a good day. We are anxiously waiting to get out into the fields this spring, in western New York it’s still a little too wet to do anything. As we are making plans for the spring the phrase “it’ll depend on the weather” starts getting used more and more at my house. I am looking forward to a few more exciting sales in the month of May! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is really no better time to invest in great Holstein cow families that are being made available. Finding a show calf for the year, buying into a famous cow family, purchasing a young cow prospect, no matter what your goal is there are endless opportunities these next couple of weeks. Don’t think that a sale won’t have anything for you, those that are patient usually end up with a great one for less!
