School Location - Kamloops
MLWS-TRU is a BC senior high school located in the beautiful city of Kamloops
British, Columbia. Overlooking the meeting of the North and South Thompson
Rivers, Kamloops has a population of 100,000 and is known as the tournament
capital of Canada, hosting a vast array of sporting and cultural events. The
community and surrounding area have much to offer our students. They are
all immersed in Canadian culture. Outdoor activities abound: skiing, fishing,
hiking, running and biking are all central to the lifestyle in Kamloops.
One of the sunniest cities in BC, Kamloops is home to the province's largest
municipal park, and there are over 100 freshwater lakes within one hour,
making for lots to see and explore in the great outdoors. Winter sports are
vibrant in Kamloops, with Sun Peaks ski resort, Canada's second largest ski
destination, only a 45-minute drive from the city.

The university has over 14,000 students on campus with more than 3,000 international
students from over 90 countries. TRU offers a diverse learning experience for all,
making it a great campus for students to grow and develop their understanding of

Facilities
The Tournament Capital Centre (TCC), located right next our classrooms, is an
outstanding world-class sports centre with an Olympic-size pool located in the
aquatic centre, that was built for the Canada summer games in 1993, along with
indoor NBA standard basketball courts, a six-lane running track, exercise training
rooms and gymnastics facilities. Our students will never be short of things to do
during the school day, after school or on weekends. Students also have use of
TRU's two libraries on campus and some other campus facilities, such as the
campus theatre.
Housing
MLWS-TRU offers excellent dormitory living for students in East Village. The
dormitories are only steps away from the TRU campus, as well as from shopping
and restaurants. The dormitories are spacious, with room for four students. Each
student has a separate bedroom and there is a common area with a kitchen and a
bathroom that the four students share. There is a second bathroom in the common
area as well. Student dormitories are located on the first, second, third or fourth
floor of the dorm buildings. MLWS-TRU staff and East Village management oversee
the dormitories around the clock.
Meal Plan
For all MLWS-TRU students, lunch and dinner (Monday to Friday) is provided
at the school. These meals are catered locally and are planned to provide well-
rounded and nutritious meals to the students. Special dietary requirements can
be accommodated.TRU meal plan covers lunch and dinner five days per week,
approximately 200 days over the school calendar year.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is a Canadian polytechnic university that
integrates teaching, research and innovations in preparing students for fulfilling
careers. Established in 1981, KPU offers degrees, diplomas and certificates in more
than 120 programs. The Richmond campus is located in the heart of a vibrant and
very ethnically diverse community on a 10-acre urban site. The campus features
modern classrooms, state-of-the-art graphic design computer labs, interior design
work studios, and fully equipped science labs. The campus also includes a cafeteria,
