INTERIM TERM CONTRACT ( UPTO 30th MARCH 2020 ) FOR VARIOUS ITEMS OF
FURNITURE AT KARACHI AND OTHER STATIONS
QUOTATION / TENDER
You are advised to drop your sealed quotation for the items of works mentioned in the
attached sheets as per following TERM AND CONDITIONS, in tender box available with
Finance Office in Head Office Karachi Airport before time of opening of the subject tender.
1. PIA reserves the right to accept or reject the quotation without assigning any reason.
2. CONDITIONAL TENDERS and tenders WITHOUT VALID BID MONEY will not
be accepted.
3. Each bidder will enclose a Pay Order / Bank Draft / Cash Receipt of an amount of Rs.
FIFTEEN THOUSAND in favour of PIA as bid money.
4. The bid money of unsuccessful bidders will be refunded.
5. The BID MONEY of the approved lowest bidders will be treated as Security Deposit,
which is refundable after 04 months of successful completion of the term period.
6. Tenders will be opened on 28-03-2019 at 1500 hours in Finance Office 2nd
Floor in Head Office in presence of the bidders who care to attend.
7. The quotation will remain valid up to three months from the date of opening of tender.
8. Validity of Contract is till ___________________, and can be extended by mutual
consent.
9. All contractors shall have to abide by all clauses mentioned in Work Order document
in Facilities Management Division, a copy of which is enclosed herewith for
entire term of contract.
10. No excuse of non-availability of material in the market rates will be accepted after the
work order is issued.
11. No material will be supplied by PIA to contractors for the job except if specified.
12. If any contractor desires to quote different city / cities, then they have to submit
separate bid money for each station.
13. Every page of the quotation / tender must be signed with seal by the contractor.
14. The bidders must indicate the tender reference on the sealed envelope.
15. Management have the right to award any item / items of work the lowest approved
rates not necessarily to the lowest bidder but to ant other contractor, with the
consent of the lowest bidder.

GENERAL SPECIFICATION AND CONDITIONS
1. All joineries have to be standard joineries.
2. All veneered ply board and plastic laminate must be pressed with Hoechst Glue as
required.
3. All upholstery furniture must have first class quality upholstery material i.e. springs,
cotton, white cloth, jute, canvas Master Molty foam, rubber cushion first class
stitching etc.
4. Only seasoned wood would be used.
5. Each bidder will enclose a pay order of an amount of Rs. 15,00.00 in favour of PIA as
bid money. The bid money of unsuccessful bidders will be returned. The bid money
of the approved lowest bidders will be treated as security deposit which is refundable
after 6 months of the successful completion of the terms period. It will however, be
confiscated if the contractor fails to honour their bid.
6. Approved contractors will have to get the samples of each item approved as per our
specifications before starting supply.
7. PIA reserves the right to accept or reject any one or all quotations without assigning
any reason.
8. Tenders will be opened on the appointed date and time by the Management in the
presence of the contractors who care to attend.
9. The approved contract ors will be required to supply furniture on the basis of the
approved rates and terms & Conditions.
10. A reasonable time for completion of each job will be mentioned in each work order
which will be issued from time to time with standard terms & condition.
11. Contractor failing to complete the work within the allowed time or its extension, shall
be liable to pay penalty of Rs. 0.1% per day the cost of the total work up to a
Maximum of 10% (Ten Present) and Minimum of Rs. 50.00 per day.
12. Where quality of work is not satisfactory or the work is not completed within the
period allowed, PIA reserves the right to get the work done from any other means at
the risk and cost of the contractor; such cost will be met either from the Security
Money, or the outstanding bills of the contractors for other works.13. Each work order for a job shall be treated separately and paid for a completion of the
job No up to Rs. 10,000.00.
14. Approved tender rates will be valid up till Next TC only for one year.
15. Condition tenders and tenders without pay order will not be accepted and shall be
rejected straightaway.
16. The above rates are applicable for Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi & Peshawar please
strike out whichever is not applicable.
17. If any contract or desire to quote different rates for different city / cities then he may
attach station wise separate sheet / of rates, duly signed & stamped, as per items
contained in the tender.
18. Fore restricted area, the contractor will have to arrange “Entry Pass” for his personnel
Vehicle & machinery. These passes shall be collected by the concerned Agencies. All
expenses in this respect will be borne by the contractor.
19. The Tender / Quotation shall be valid for a period of 90 days from the date of opening
of the tender.
20. Each and every page must be signed with seal of the contractor.
21. This is sole responsibility of the contractor to send / drop the tender in the tender box
available / placed in the accounts office of PIA Works Division Head Office Karachi.
22. Drawing already provided if not in the tender then it can be seen I n the office of
Officer Furniture Karachi.
23. The tender rates or amounts are inclusive of all taxes (Income tax, Sales Tax etc)
duties and charges whatsoever payable to or levied from time to time by the
Government and entertained by the Corporation.
