Magdalen Islands & PEI July 20 – 24, 2021 (5 Days) Tour Itinerary Welcome aboard our escorted group tour to Quebec’s Magdalen Islands & Prince Edward Island. This 5-day tour is guaranteed to be an exciting experience, sure to be your memorable summer getaway! Enjoy your first night in Prince Edward Island’s capital city, Charlottetown, followed by 3 nights on the beautiful Magdalen Islands. Outlined below is the daily itinerary, a look at the activities and meals included each day of your tour. Please read the information carefully, paying particular attention to the final page with procedures & policies. The following have been implemented to enhance safety and suppress the spread of Covid-19: • Spaced seating between passengers • Hand washing/sanitizing stations • Enhanced cleaning/disinfecting of each motor coach before each tour, and nightly during each tour Additionally, Collins Tours is developing further processes and policies that go above and beyond the changes made by all our motor coach partners: • Face masks will be required during motor coach entry and possibly during coach travel (foreseeable future) • A non-invasive contactless temperature check will take place prior to boarding the motor coach at the commencement of the tour. • Medical questionnaires will be issued via email and mail prior to travel. This questionnaire will be reviewed with each boarding passenger or travel bubble. Advanced questionnaires will need to be signed. PEI Pass Details and online application can be found at https://www.princeedwardisland.ca/en/service/apply- for-a-pei-pass As of June 27, Atlantic Canada and Magdalen Islands residents with one dose (+21 days) of a COVID-19 vaccine can travel to PEI without isolation from within Atlantic Canada and the Magdalen Islands. The PEI Pass can be used multiple times providing the conditions of the pass are met on entry to PEI. The Pass confirms Islanders and travellers meet the appropriate criteria to be exempt from self-isolation in PEI, after travel within the Atlantic provinces. Currently the PEI Pass is in effect for the following travelers who have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine (at least 21 days prior to arrival):
Tour Itinerary – July Magdalen Islands & PEI • PEI residents returning home after traveling within the four Atlantic provinces and the Magdalen Islands. • Visitors coming to PEI from within the four Atlantic provinces or the Magdalen Islands • A separate application is required for each vaccinated person aged 12 and over • You must have been vaccinated with a vaccine approved for use in Canada. Travellers with a PEI Pass will be eligible to enter PEI without isolation, provided they meet the following conditions: • Have your PEI Pass with you on entry to PEI, along with matching government issued Photo ID. • Have not been diagnosed with or showed symptoms of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to travel to PEI • Have not been in contact with someone with active COVID-19 or in isolation in the 14 days prior to travel to PEI • Agree to be tested on entry as directed by public health officials • Agree to monitor for Covid-19 symptoms and seek testing as soon as possible if symptoms develop Day 1: Tue, July 20 – Home – Hampton Inn & Suites, Charlottetown PEI (D) • Meet your tour manager or shuttle driver at your **designated meeting point. Confirmed pick- up/drop-off locations are as follows: PICK UP LOCATIONS & DEPARTURE TIMES: Nova Scotia Travelers: New Brunswick Travelers: ➢ Halifax, Sobey’s Lacewood Dr. – 10:15am ➢ Lincoln, Irving Big Stop – 10:00am ➢ Dartmouth Crossing, Hampton Inn – 10:40am ➢ Saint John, Rte. 1 Irving Big Stop – 11:20am ➢ Truro Heights, Irving Big Stop – 11:40am Aulac NB Irving Big Stop 1 hour, 15 min. brunch stop and transfer of passengers to main motor coach • All stops for passenger pick up/drop off will be brief (10-15 min.) and we ask that you remain on board while we greet new travellers. Once all travellers are aboard, we make our way across the Confederation Bridge and onto our home for the evening, the Hampton Inn & Suites, Charlottetown. • Your tour director checks you in and has luggage delivered to your room. Please note, check in time is not until 3pm. Luggage will be stored, and rooms may not be ready upon arrival. • The coach will depart the hotel for our dinner reservation at a local restaurant and our fabulous welcome dinner with a glass of wine or beer. (Included) • Tonight enjoy an optional show at The Confederation Centre for the Arts in downtown Charlottetown for a performance of “Dear Rita”. a musical toast celebrating the life, tenacity, and musical legacy of the beloved late singer Rita MacNeil. A complimentary transfer back to the hotel, at the end of the show, is included. OPTIONAL SHOW: COST $80 per person tax & ticket office handling fees included. Day 2: Wed, July 21 – Charlottetown-Auberge Madeli, Magdalen Islands (B) • Enjoy a relaxed morning and a delicious breakfast at our hotel this morning before check-out and departure for the ferry to the Magdalen Islands. Tour Itinerary – July Magdalen Islands & PEI • During our voyage across the Gulf of St.Lawrence you have the opportunity to dine (on own) in the ship’s casual restaurant. • Once we arrive at the Cap aux Meules ferry ramp, we’re left with a brief 2-minute drive to the Auberge Madeli, our centrally-located hotel for the next three nights! Relax while your tour manager checks you in, distributes your room key, and has your bag sent to your room. Baggage handling fees are included (1 bag per person please) in your tour price. • Dinner this evening is on your own with restaurant options available nearby within walking distance. Day 3: Thu, July 22 - Cap Aux Meules, Magdalen Islands (B, D) • Continental breakfast (included) at the hotel this morning. Then, meet your Tour Manager and a local “step on” guide, for a fabulous and informative tour of the picturesque communities that dot the western part of the Archipelago. Learn about the history, geology and natural beauty of this amazing area and its locals, or “Madelinots.” • After this morning’s tour, we have arranged a coffee break and time for lunch before our unforgettable Caves & Cliffs Tour, a boat tour from the Cap aux Meules marina with Excursions en Mer Inc. (Included; *Boat trip will operate Friday if postponed due to weather delays). The vantage point from the sea is a definite highlight of the Magdalen Islands! • Following our sightseeing cruise, board the coach for a quick transfer back to the hotel. • We gather tonight for a group dinner (Included) at a local restaurant. Day 4: Fri, July 23 - Cap Aux Meules, Magdalen Islands (B, L, D) • Continental breakfast, (included) at the hotel. Welcome our local guide back for another fantastic tour featuring parts of the islands you have yet to see. Experience breathtaking beaches, endless sand dunes, and inspiring cliffs. • Pass by the island’s salt mine as you head to the picturesque town of Grand-Entrée on Grand Entry Island, the northeast extent of the islands and Quebec’s designated lobster capital. • Enjoy 1.5-hrs in Grand Entre including time for meal (included) and explore the beaches, boats, and boutiques. • After exploring more of the islands, we arrive at a winery for a tasting before another quick drive to Fromagerie du Pied-de-Vent to sample some local cheeses. • Return to Cap-aux-Meules and Auberge Madeli this afternoon for some time to refresh before dinner. • Our farewell group dinner tonight will be at a local restaurant with a glass of wine or beer. (Included) Day 5: Sat, July 24 - Home (B) • Enjoy the complimentary continental breakfast this morning before our early check-out. We will depart the hotel and begin our journey back to the mainland. Stops today include a short coffee break, as well as time for lunch (your expense) along our route.
