Lumidigm Venus V30x Series Specification v1.4 Product Overview The Lumidigm Venus V30x fingerprint sensor is based on Lumidigm’s patented multispectral imaging technology and delivers industry-leading biometric performance regardless of environmental or skin conditions. This series is available as an OEM module or as a tabletop device. The Venus OEM module is designed for integration into a wide range of products including: automated teller machines (ATM), access control terminals, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, civil identity (CID) applications, logical access (LA) in healthcare and banking, and time and attendance (TA) terminals. Venus OEM modules are self-contained intelligent devices that can perform the following functions: dynamic presence detection, multispectral imaging, image processing, image output, and optional liveness detection. Venus OEM modules also provide biometric matching functions including feature extraction, biometric template generation, 1:1 matching or verification, as well as template storage and template management functions. When armed, Venus OEM modules scan continuously for a properly placed finger. Once a properly placed finger is detected, proprietary multispectral imaging is used to produce a high- contrast ANSI 381 image and a liveness score. The liveness score is used to determine if the placed finger was genuine. This image can then be passed to any extraction/matching fingerprint algorithm for further processing or the Venus module itself can perform all verification services. Lumidigm's feature extraction algorithms extract minutia and create an ANSI 378 / MINEX compliant biometric template which in turn can be used to match against a downloaded template or set of templates. © 2002-2011 Lumidigm, Inc.
