Proposed Development and Housing West Sacramento, CA West Sacramento is a major employment center in the region, with thousands of employees a few minutes away. Major employers nearby include UPS, Nor-Cal Beverage, Grainger, Flowmaster, Saladino’s, DBI Beverage and Ply Gem Windows. Several new businesses have opened or plan new facilities in Southport Business Park. Nippon Shokken U.S.A. opened a Japanese sauce and seasoning production plant in 2013, creating over 300 new jobs. Shinmei U.S.A. will break ground in 2014 on their first United States ‘rice bun’ production facility, creating over 100 new jobs. Also in 2014, Coremark will build a 200,000 s.f. distribution center, creating over 250 jobs. The South River Road Bridge, just east of the Lowe’s Shopping Center, will soon connect the developing riverfront area to Southport and is scheduled for completion in late 2014.
