Seirbhís Leabharlainne Lú Louth Library Service Meitheamh June 2021 Bród 2021 Pride 2021 Our #Pride2021 celebrations were launched in Ardee Library on Friday, May 28. To celebrate and support our local LGBTQ+ community, we have put together a brand new collection of LGBTQ+ themed or written titles. Each of these titles are documented in a series of brochures for each section; Adult Fiction, Adult Non-Fiction, Young Adult, and Junior. Read through the newsletter to find out more about our new collection, and to see the excellent events we have lined up! Anyone interested in having books delivered to their door on a long loan basis can contact Louth County Council's Community Call Helpline at 1800 805 817, phone your local branch, or email libraryhelpdesk@louthcoco.ie. A collection of books will be put together based on your reading interests and will be delivered safely to your door.

Comórtas Competiton Louth Library Service, in conjunction with Louth Sports Partnership and Road Safety Officer, are now accepting entries for 2nd - 5th class pupils for the annual Bike Week Art Competition. Seirbhís Leabharlainne Lú Louth Library Service Meitheamh June 2021 Cruinniú na nÓg Louth Library Service is delighted to support this national day of arts and creativity for children and young people. Na Lochlannaigh i gContae Lú Vikings in Louth Satharn, Meitheamh 12 Saturday, June 12 at 11am County Louth has an incredible Viking history! Join us to learn about the Vikings in Ireland and some of the amazing Viking discoveries in the county. In this hands-on live workshop, children will make a Viking longship while hearing fun facts, terrible dad jokes, and a fabulous story of life in Ireland at the time of the Vikings. Materials: Crafting packs can be downloaded in advance and printed at home. Packs are also available for collection from Drogheda, Dundalk, or Ardee Libraries. Full details will be provided when booking. This event is hosted live on Zoom and can only be accessed at 11am on June 12th. Please book in advance here. Children are encouraged to read and record their progress during their Summer holidays to earn a prize! The programme will also be supported with a range of free events, which will be announced soon. Seoladh Launch Summer Stars Illustration Workshop Satharn, Meitheamh 19 Saturday, June 19 at 2:30pm To celebrate the start of the Summer Stars reading Programme, artist and storyteller Wayne O’Connor will guide participants in a fun filled art session with guidance on how to create exciting characters and develop an imaginative story. All you need is some paper, a pencil, and your own imagination. Places are limited so booking is essential.
