In 2021, our desire to travel is truly alive and kicking; here’s how the trends are shaping up for the years ahead. It took having our freedom to roam taken away to fully appreciate what it meant to us. With the world stood still and time slowed, we finally had the chance to take stock of the things we’ve seen, the places we’ve been and the places we’ll go ‘once normality resumes’ – a phrase that’s up there with ‘unprecedented turn of events’ in the dictionary of 2020. It’s difficult to make predictions in the midst of a pandemic. Would we want to travel the same way again? Could we travel the same way again, even if we wanted to? As the year drew to a close and news of a vaccine brought light to the horizon, it became glaringly obvious that we were all more keen to explore than ever. We missed planning and booking, marking the date in our diaries when for a week or two we’d be blissfully unoccupied. We missed Med cities in hot summers and longed for white sands where the only Corona on our lips was the beer. We even missed airports. Now, travel is back on the horizon; this is how it’ll look. www.bolsovercruiseclub.com INTO THE BLUE 25
