INFO SHEEP POULTRY HELP US TO RECYCLE AND g green! As the organisers of the Royal County of Berkshire Show we are working hard to ensure their waste management plan is sustainable and eco-conscious, as the protection of the environment is essential to the future of the agricultural, horticultural, forestry and rural crafts industries. With thousands of people pouring through our gates and enjoying the amazing selection of food, drink and products on offer, the show can create a lot of waste. We work closely with a company who put our waste management plan into action by providing a good selection of coloured recycling bins across the showground during the show weekend, making it even easier for visitors to dispose of their waste. We’d like to go that one step further by working with you, our exhibitors, in reducing waste even more, and here’s just a few ways for you to think about: l Instead of offering plastic bags to visitors, why not provide paper bags or offer reusable bags at a small charge. l If you’re offering refreshments, look into reusable or recyclable cups. l Please dispose of all your waste in the coloured recycling bins provided across the showground during and after the Show. l Email receipts to your customers instead of printing them. l Try not to over-cater as this can result in unecessary waste. l Try to sort your waste into cardboard, plastic, tins etc so when our contractor comes round to collect, it’s disposed of quicker. #GoGreen 1010
