Qualifying for 2015 Grand National See 19th Edition of ALSA Handbook - Page 28, Section 2: Qualifying. Performance Classes In response to comments and suggestions from exhibitors, there will be some changes to how the performance classes are run this year. Pack will be the first class for each division, with the course split between at least two judges. When all exhibitors in that division have completed the pack course, the walk-throughs for the Obstacle and Public Relations courses will take place for that division. The Obstacle and Public Relations courses will run simultaneously and each exhibitor may choose in which order to complete them. Performance walk-throughs will take priority over other classes and courses held open as necessary to ensure no exhibitor misses a class. Halter Classes Each llama must be entered in its appropriate age and wool division at the time of the Grand National, regardless of the age or wool division in which you initially qualified. On a llama’s date of birth, the llama moves up to the older class. All four wool divisions will be included in the Grand National Show. If you qualified at a show where wool divisions were combined (e.g., Light/Medium or Medium/Heavy), you must choose the correct wool division for the Grand Nationals. Since this is the first year for Alpaca Halter classes, they will be conducted as a Level I show. Please review Part K of the ALSA Handbook for rules relating to alpaca halter classes and contact the Grand National Com- mittee if you have any questions. For GOS and Produce, please make your entry in the Dam or Sire’s name on your entry form and send a copy of their ILR Certificate. Vendors Vendors are welcome. Those interested in becoming a vendor should contact the ALSA office for information.
Youth Information We will be offering a challenge once again this year to the youth and their 4H Leaders! If this challenge is met, we will give each of our youth exhibors that are entered in 5 youth classes, (ie. Youth Showmanship, Youth Judging, Youth Obstacle, Youth Public Relations, and Youth Pack) a $25.00 refund. An example of this: A youth enteres the 5 youth classes named above. This is counted as one entry. If the same youth enters again with an Alpaca for the three youth alpaca performance classes(since they cannot enter Youth Showmanhip or Youth Judging a second time), this is also counted as another entry. This example could be reversed. So - in other words, this youth would be entered in 8 classes and be counted as two entries, but he/she will only be eligible for the $25.00 refund once. Youth Silent Auction and Raffle There will be a youth silent auction benefiting the ALSA youth schlorship fund. There will also be raffle items going toward the 2015 ALSA Grand Nationals. Tickets may be purchased at the ALSA office. Please bring your donated items to the show or mail in advance to the ALSA office. Sub Jr. and Special Needs Classes Sub Jr. and Special Need classes are available at the Grand National show at no cost to the exhibitors. The classes available are obstacle & showmanship. When entering Special Needs classes be sure to send the Exhibitors with Disabilities ALSA Form , found on the ALSA website, with your entry information. Costume Class We will have two different costume classes at the Show this year; 8 years thru 18 years of age and 19 years & older. There will be a $10.00 entry fee cost for entering costume. Be sure to start planning your costume now. Banners Everone may have signage displayed in the arenas. Drop your banners in office and then they may be removed after completion of the show for pick up. . ALSA Evening Meal There will be a Saturday Oct. 24th evening meal. There is a $15.00 charge per person for the meal, reservations/ tickets required. Youth under 10, $13.00.
