      We sincerely hope that the first month of 2017 has been a sale-full month for you. We
would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your overwhelming response to our
December 2016 Newsletter.

       As promised, we are back with a January 2017 edition of Flipkart Newsletter with all the
happenings of Flipkart Marketplace at one place. This one is special as January 2017 has been
a happening month for Flipkart. New programs, major sale events, and lots of orders...what
else can one hope from the first month of a new year!

1. Trends Calendar

       You must have seen Flipkart fashion advertisements on television; it has left a great
impact on customers and hence lifestyle sellers are witnessing a hike in business. Flipkart
launched the Trends Calendar for sellers to list new trends and gain customer traction on the
trending lifestyle products.
       We identify various trending fashion across lifestyle categories and all those products
are then grouped in the trending product list. A seller then logs into the Trends Calendar page
to know the exact products to source and list on Flipkart.

 2. Flipkart SmartBuy

        Flipkart launched its very own private label “Flipkart SmartBuy” for delivery of
 quality products at affordable prices. Customers can now make smart buying choices
 and get best-in-class products. We have already launched chargers, cables and data
 cables in December. In January, earphones, kitchen containers, headphones, blue-
 tooth speakers, power banks, and cases and covers are available under SmartBuy.
 Plans are in place to add many more products like tempered glasses and bedsheets in
 the days to come.

       Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the seller warehouses could have processes similar to Flip-
kart warehouses and function at the same level? Smart Fulfilment is an offering for sellers
with warehouse and order management softwares combined with best practices.

Inventory guarantee through a warehouse implanted at the seller location, coupled with
streamlined operations, ensures zero breaches, cancellations and mis-shipments. This leads
to superior customer experience, and accelerated business growth for the sellers.

Currently, we have around 40 sellers who are on Smart Fulfilment and they have seen signifi-
cant growth in business and improvement in performance metrics after joining the program.

      We launched our self-paced learning platform, Smart Learn, in December with returns
module. The response has been fabulous with many sellers getting certified on Returns
module. They have also found the content helpful and easy to understand. With this in mind,
we have launched four new modules - Order management, Payments & Settlements, Listings
& Cataloging and Trust & Safety. Get certified on all these modules and improve your
business operations!

2. Priority Support
      Our seller support team has been working tirelessly to help you resolve
your queries as soon as possible. The Priority Support Program has been rolled
out to all Gold sellers in January. This program has a dedicated set of agents
handling tickets of Gold sellers and the tickets are routed on a priority basis.
Gold sellers also get increased visibility on their ticket status for faster
resolution.

There has been a 33% reduction in time to resolve queries from September to
December. Over the last six months seller satisfaction has improved from 71%
to 83%. The number of times sellers that had to contact seller support for
second time also reduced from 43% to 18% during this period. The number of
issues resolved within 24 hours has also moved from 68% in September to
78% in December.

Union Budget 2017
Key highlights of the budget are:
   5% decrease in tax for MSMEs with turnover up to Rs 50 crore is expected to
   increase the yearly turnover upto Rs 7200 crores.
   Abolishment of Foreign Investment Promotion Board and faster government
   approvals for foreign proposals. Almost 90% of the FDI comes through auto-
   mated system which make things easier and faster
   Surcharge of 10% for those whose annual income is Rs 50 lakh to 1 crore.
   15% surcharge on incomes above Rs 1 crore to continue.
   Rs 3,96,135 crore has been allocated to Railways for infrastructure. Rashtriya
   Rail Sanraksha Kosh (National Rail Safety Fund) with an corpus of Rs 1 lakh
   crore.
   More stress on cashless transaction, use of card readers and mPOS micro
   ATMs standards for version 1.5.1, fingerprint readers, scanners and iris
   scanners at places like customs duties, excise duties, etc, for faster
   movement.

           The news of 5% decrease in corporate tax rate(from 30% to 25%) for
MSMEs with revenue less than Rs 50 crore should give sellers like you plenty to
cheer about.Also, for the businesses that have turnover up to Rs 2 crore, under
section 44AD of the Income Tax Act, income would be presumed to be 6% of the
total turnover of the assessee, instead of 8% only if gross receipts are received
through digital means. This will bring in more transparency and encourage them to
adopt digital means of doing business.

      We have been conducting majority of our trainings through webinars over the past 6
months. Recently, webinars are being conducted with subject experts from various domains

business. We have also enabled two way voice interaction which makes the webinar more
engaging.

2. Revamped Payments Dashboard
     Payments dashboard will be revamped soon to make it easier to track all your
payments, notifications, payment history for all different services, and much more!

3. Digital proof for Pick-up and
   Return Delivery
       Time to say good-bye to paper proof. Introducing digital proof, which is a record for all
the products that are handed over to logistics partners and the returned product delivered
back to you.

You will now be able to download digital proof for all your shipments ( handed over and
returned ) on seller portal, which in turn will reduce discrepancies related to your shipments.

4. Listings experience enhancements
       How about getting a self guided UI experience to smoothen the process of catalog-
ing? Or an easy navigation to list the products on the desired vertical? In order to enhance
your selling experience further on Flipkart, we are introducing updates on listings tab. The
new UI provides you with contextual help, thereby smoothening the process of catalog
creation.

Lighter catalog templates and a new browse tree for category selection will provide you
easy navigation for listing products on the corresponding vertical. Also, you will now have
the ability to create size chart for lifestyle products on Listings dashboard.
