Aki Centre - Pilot School 2018 2020-- 2021 2019 Our school was chosen as a pilot school and given the amazing opportunity to visit the Aki Centre repeatedly throughout the year. By being able to return to the site several times, children were able to build a meaningful connection to the space and the landscape. Children looked forward to returning to check on trees they remembered, observe changes in the pond, and spend time around the campfire. During visits, classes had the opportunity to climb and sled on the big hill, walk and tour the grounds and learn about indigenous plants species. We prepared seeds for spring gardening, learned about composting, safely learned to build a fire, among other amazing land-based learning experiences. ÉRR is thankful for this opportunity and we are so excited to return to the space over the years as the Centre continues to thrive!
