FARMERS CALL CENTRE Government of Andhra Pradesh established call centre in 1988 first of its kind in India. We are the pioneer of Indian Kisan Call Centres in India 1800 425 1110 TELANGANA 1800 425 0430 ANDRA PRADESH
The Department of Agriculture & Cooperation (DAC),Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India Launched TOLL FREE KISAN CALL CENTRES on January 21,2004 across the country to deliver extension services to the farming community. The farmers can call to Kisan Call Centre and enquire about the various queries/problems related to the Crops, seeds, fertilizers, Agriculture Commodity Prices, Pesticides, Horticulture, Veterinary, etc free of charge.
CALL TOLL FREE NUMBER 18001801551 (From any Landline or Mobile) OR 1551 (From BSNL Landline) Indian Kisan Sanchar Limited (IKSL) is appointed by DAC to provide services to KCC. It examine various technological options, modalities, issues, procedures, cost estimates, implementation and operation of “Kisan Call Center, to deliver Agriculture related information to the farmers in India
Infrastructure: The Kisan Call Center infrastructure is placed at three locations namely: 3 levels 1. A professionally managed Call Center (Level-I) : The farmers’ call lands on a switch in BSNL and the same is transferred to one of the 10 hunting lines (on first come first serve basis) at the Call Center premises. Here there will be Agriculture/Horticulture/Veterinary Graduates picking up these calls and capturing data.
2. A Response Center in each organization, where services of Subject Matter Specialists are made available (Level-II) 3. The Nodal Cell (Level-III) :The Level-III is managed by a Senior Officer from the Nodal Institution. – MANAGE

Documentation & Reporting All the proceedings of the Kisan Call Center will be documented by each of the Nodal Institution and shared with other Kisan Call Centers for preparing a database on crop. Prepare Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and report to the Department of Agriculture & Cooperation (DAC), Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), Govt. of India and Ag. Universities through e-mail on fortnightly basis.

Monitoring & Review The Nodal Institution MANAGE and IKSL will be Monitoring the activities of the Kisan Call Center at various levels on farmers 'queries availability of Level-II, call dropouts . Subsequently, conduct, meetings, every month- for refreshing of Knowledge of FTAs. The Department of Agriculture & Cooperation (DAC), Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), Govt. of India will review the functioning of all the Kisan Call Centers with the Heads of Nodal Institutions every quarter. ➢ Technical support will be provided by Agricultural Universities

Sample Survey on KCC ➢ Male callers – 78% ➢ Majority callers or middle age group (30 to 40) – 70% ➢ Majority callers or high secondary education – 62% followed by middle school, and very less graduates ➢ Sharing of information 1 to 5 farmers – 50% only ➢ Credibility and adoption – 62%
Constraints ➢ No permanent Farmer Tele Advisors ➢ Frequent change of Tele Advisors ➢ Low salaries of Tele Advisors ➢ Frequent change in services providing agencies ➢ Less support from ANGRAU and Andhra Pradesh Department of Agriculture after Bifurcation of State ➢ No effort to popularize about the centre in low call districts
