centre in 1988 first of its kind in India. We are the
pioneer of Indian Kisan Call Centres in India

The    Department   of    Agriculture  &    Cooperation
(DAC),Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India Launched
TOLL FREE KISAN CALL CENTRES on January 21,2004
across the country to deliver extension services to the
farming community.

The farmers can call to Kisan Call Centre and enquire about
the various queries/problems related to the Crops, seeds,
fertilizers, Agriculture Commodity Prices, Pesticides,
Horticulture, Veterinary, etc free of charge.

appointed by DAC to provide services to
KCC. It examine various technological
options, modalities, issues, procedures, cost
estimates, implementation and operation of
“Kisan Call Center, to deliver Agriculture
related information to the farmers in India

Infrastructure:
 The Kisan Call Center infrastructure is placed at three locations
  namely: 3 levels

1. A professionally managed Call Center (Level-I) :
   The farmers’ call lands on a switch in BSNL and the same is
    transferred to one of the 10 hunting lines (on first come first
    serve basis) at the Call Center premises. Here there will be
    Agriculture/Horticulture/Veterinary Graduates picking up
    these calls and capturing data.

2. A Response Center in each organization, where
   services of Subject Matter Specialists are made
   available (Level-II)

3. The Nodal Cell (Level-III) :The Level-III is
   managed by a Senior Officer from the Nodal
   Institution. – MANAGE

 Cooperation (DAC), Ministry of Agriculture
 (MOA), Govt. of India and Ag. Universities
 through e-mail on fortnightly basis.
LEVEL- I
Monitoring & Review

   The Nodal Institution MANAGE and IKSL will be
   Monitoring the activities of the Kisan Call Center at various
   levels on farmers 'queries availability of Level-II, call
   dropouts .

  Subsequently, conduct, meetings, every month- for refreshing
  of Knowledge of FTAs.

  The Department of Agriculture & Cooperation (DAC), Ministry
  of Agriculture (MOA), Govt. of India will review the
  functioning of all the Kisan Call Centers with the Heads of
  Nodal Institutions every quarter.

  Universities
