In 2012, the Knights of Columbus, Council
2191, in cooperation with the St. Peter
Respect Life Ministry lovingly built a
Respect Life Garden on the parish grounds,
providing a unique meditative space,
whether walking through the garden or
pausing for a moment of reflection and
prayer. The bricks in the garden create a
beautiful walkway and patio area around
the bronze bust of Saint Pope John Paul II
holding an infant.
A limited number of walkway and patio
bricks are available for dedication. The

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15TH DINNER VOLUNTEERS!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Most Sunday afternoons after the church parking lot has
cleared, a few cars remain. These are the family and
friends of some very special people who have chosen to
have their children baptized. To assist these families on
their special day, our Holy Spirit Baptism Ministry provides
a hostess. A baptism hostess assists the clergy and serves
as an ambassador of the parish.
At this time, we need
more volunteers in this ministry.
The time commitment is small (one Sunday each month)
and training is provided. While you serve the community,
it’s also a wonderful way to meet the newest members of
our congregation!

This summer (beginning June 10th) please join us EVERY FRIDAY at 9:30 AM
at Dryden Park in Geneva (just a few minutes from St. Peter).
There are swings, a small playset for little ones, a larger playset, as well as
tennis courts and a basketball court for older kiddos! There’s also a
covered area for Moms to gather to talk. No need to RSVP! Just show up
when it works for you! Cate Palenik and/or Molly Klein will be at the park
every Friday (sometimes with some extra projects for our children).

and your children soon!

TOTUS TUUS CAMP LEADERS NEEDED
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Totus Tuus has been cancelled
on the Diocesan Level, but we still want to give our kids the camp,
so we are doing what we did last year, and having our own in-
house camp leaders.
Father McFadden and our summer seminarian, Ryan Noorae, are
both Totus Tuus veterans and will provide training for any
volunteers. Therefore, we are looking for 8 high school- through
college-aged volunteers to lead the camp. The day camp will be
July 11th - July15th form 9:00 AM to 2:15 PM leaders would arrive
around 8:00 AM-8:30 AM to set up for the day. We will train
the volunteers. Training date to be determined based on their
schedules.
This is a great opportunity for high school students to earn service
hours and a great experience for college students going into
elementary education. Please spread the word!

St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Sugar
Grove seeks a part-time director of Religious
Education. The person will direct youth (grade 8
and under) and special needs faith formation for
the parish. Prior experience in implementing a
family faith formation model is of interest, but not
required. A willingness to collaborate and evaluate
current needs is desired. A degree in religious
studies, theology, or related field is preferred but
not required. Alternatively, willingness to complete
Diocesan Ministry Formation and the Diocesan
Catechetical Leader Certification process or the
equivalent is required. Candidates should be on
their own spiritual journey, pursuing ongoing
spiritual growth through daily prayer, shared faith
experiences and living out the beauty and
teachings of the Catholic faith.

the old and familiar need to be left behind, God creates
something new. Change and disorder do not need to be our
enemies. They always bring opportunities for something
exciting and new. What we need is untiring faith, firm hope, and
perfect love.
What we need is for the Holy Spirit to enlighten us to see what
is important and what we must do. “O Holy Spirit, descend
plentifully into my heart. Enlighten the dark corners of this
neglected dwelling and scatter there Thy cheerful beams.” (St.
Augustine) If we experience joy, even in the midst of turbulence,
then we will know we are exactly where God needs us to be. If
not, then perhaps there is a lesson in the decaying leaves that
graciously descend to the ground on a crisp fall day.
