First Presbyterian Church July 2021 PASTOR'S PARAGRAPHS The writer of Ecclesiastes said, "There is nothing new under the sun." That is proof he didn't live through the year 2020 in the same way we did. Everything was new for us, from mask wearing to ordering groceries, from staying 6 feet apart to staying home. Not to mention watching our previously taped worship service on TV instead of being there in person. Nothing new?? Only one of the new things to come from last year's changes is our live -streaming of the worship service in addition to worshipping live and in person. And that has been a good thing! We have reached out to people we never knew were looking for a worship service like ours. It seems that what we think of as 'good ole Presbyterian worship' has an appeal to some who have never been to a Presbyterian church. We have had visi- tors that came as a direct result of seeing our worship service on line. In light of all this, the Session has decided that we need make some changes in our- selves, as well as our building. In short, we need a make-over! In good Presbyterian fashion, a committee is being formed to direct and oversee the changes we feel are im- portant to the future of this church. You, the congregation, will be asked to make sug- gestions as to the changes we feel are vital for our future. And you, the congregation, will be asked to roll up your sleeves and help in different aspects of making those changes a reality. One visitor commented, "the Presbyterian church is a well-kept secret!" Will you help us share the secret? Faithfully yours, Dianne
