BARCALDINE REGIONAL COUNCIL – 2021 BUDGET Barcaldine Regional Council adopted its 2021 budget at its General Meeting held on Wednesday 24 June 2020. Council has budgeted for an overall average rate increase of 2.12% for the 2021 financial year. Mayor Sean Dillon said: “This is the first budget of the newly elected Council and sets the direction for Council operations for the next 12 months and beyond. 1 JULY 2020 THE PREMIER’S VISIT On Wednesday 24 June 2020 the Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk visited Barcaldine. While in Barcaldine the Premier visited grazing property Dunblane, the Australian Workers Heritage Centre and the Tree of Knowledge. During the visit, it was announced that the Queensland Government will be funding an additional $5 million for cluster fencing in Western Queensland and $3 million for outback Queensland tourism, which will form part of Infrastructure Costs the COVID-19 Unite and Recover Queensland Jobs Town Streets - maintenance and upgrades - $1,910,000 plan. Rotary Park, Apex Park, Bryan Park and Darcy Doyle Park. Suggestions can be forwarded to the Barcaldine Administration Office by Wednesday 15 July 2020 by telephoning 07 4651 5600 or visiting the office. ARAMAC-TORRENS CREEK ROAD FULLY SEALED BY JUNE 2022 It has been announced that the unsealed section of the Aramac-Torrens Creek Road, located in Flinders Shire, will be fully sealed by June 2022. The Aramac- Torrens Creek Road being fully sealed will be beneficial for local businesses, provide road safety and improve connectivity. Part of the project will also be ensuring the road is flood-proof by constructing a bridge across Prairie Creek. New pathway at the Campdraft Shed. 7

Last year the community of Aramac wore their Get Loud Shirts for Emmy at our Community BBQ breakfast and raised $9,337.00 for the Hear and Say Foundation. This year, let’s get loud again!
