BARCALDINE REGIONAL COUNCIL – 2021 BUDGET
Barcaldine Regional Council adopted its 2021 budget at its General Meeting held on Wednesday 24 June 2020.
Council has budgeted for an overall average rate increase of 2.12% for the 2021 financial year.
Mayor Sean Dillon said: “This is the first budget of the newly elected Council and sets the direction for Council
operations for the next 12 months and beyond. There is a significant investment in the upgrade of Council
infrastructure including roads, water treatment plants, sewerage treatment plants and waste landfills as well
as the finalisation of a number of community based projects.”
“The substantial confirmed government funding over the next two years will enable the full employment of our
workforce and strong support for local contractors.”
“Council has deliberately focused on project finalisation and maximising value for money on both capital works
and operational expenditure.”

                                                            THE PREMIER’S VISIT
                                                            On Wednesday 24 June 2020 the Queensland
                                                            Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk visited Barcaldine.
                                                            While in Barcaldine the Premier visited grazing

Outback Futures have started producing a podcast series for Head

It has been pointed out that the Town Hall Park does
not have an official name. Council is now seeking
feedback and suggestions from the community on
how we can officially name this park.
Current parks in Barcaldine are named as follows:
