An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and individuals with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. USA Swimming, Inc., cannot prevent you (or your child(ren)) from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while participating in USA Swimming sanctioned events. It is not possible to prevent against the presence of the disease. Therefore, if you choose to participate in a USA Swimming sanctioned event, you may be exposing yourself to and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19. By this meet, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Format: These championships will be conducted at two sites in the state of Florida. Teams will NOT be assigned to a specific site.
Rev 5/18/2021 These championships will be conducted in LCM. The 800-meter freestyle, the 1500- meter freestyle, the 50-meter butterfly, the 50-meter backstroke, the 50-meter breaststroke and all relays will be timed final events. All other events will be conducted as preliminaries and finals with the top 24 swimmers from preliminaries advancing to finals at each site. The C final will be reserved for 18&U athletes. The top 24 places in finals in the combined results will be scored. Technical Meeting: There will be a virtual (Zoom) technical meeting for each site on Wednesday, July 7 at the times listed below. Further details will be sent to coaches. It is the coaches’ responsibility to be aware of all information presented at this meeting. Site Technical Meeting Time Site 1 – Gainesville 7:00pm EDT Wednesday July 7 Site 2 – Plantation 8:00pm EDT Wednesday July 7 Rules: Current USA Swimming Rules, including the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (“MAAPP”), will govern this meet. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open-ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials, and/or spectators are present. Deck Changing: Changing, in whole or in part, into or out of a swimsuit (excluding a drag suit) in an area other than a permanent or temporary locker room, bathroom, changing room or other space designated for changing purposes is prohibited. Image All participants agree to be filmed and photographed by the official Authorization: photographer(s) and network(s) of USA Swimming under the conditions authorized by USA Swimming, and allow event organizers the right to use names, pictures, likenesses, and biographical information before, during or after the period of participation in USA Swimming competitions to promote such competitions. Eligibility: This meet is open to all swimmers who: 1. Are 2021 registered members of USA Swimming as provided by article 302. 2. Are attached to a USA Swimming Club registered with Florida Swimming or Florida Gold Coast Swimming, or Unattached and awaiting attachment to a USA Swimming Club registered with Florida Swimming or Florida Gold Coast Swimming. 3. Have achieved one or more qualifying times within the qualifying period. The qualifying period shall be Jul 1, 2019 through the entry deadline. Entries will be capped at 400 swimmers at each site. Junior and Senior Current Junior and Senior National Team Members who otherwise meet the above National Team eligibility criteria shall be exempt from the entry cap and may enter either site 1 or site Members: 2 until the late entry deadline. Additionally, a Junior or National Team member entering one or more events with proven qualifying time(s) may enter additional events at the non-conforming qualifying without proof of time.
Rev 5/18/2021 Disability Athletes: Any athlete with a disability will be accommodated in accordance with Article 105. Qualifying times may be waived by the meet referee for such swimmers. Please contact the meet host ahead of time to allow for preparation. Entry: Entries will only be accepted through USA Swimming Online Meet Entry (OME). OME Opens: 12:01 AM EDT Jun 7, 2021 OME Closes: 11:59 PM EDT Jun 30, 2021 Teams must enter the meet in OME that corresponds to their preferred site. If a valid qualifying time does not exist in the USA Swimming SWIMS database, please contact the National Times Verification Officer for the LSC in which the time was swum. In the case of a time achieved in a foreign meet sanctioned by another FINA member, please contact the National Times Committee Chairperson so that the time may be entered into the SWIMS database. Override times may be used to enter the 200-meter length relays and do not require proof. Override times for all other events not proven through SWIMS by the scratch deadline for the event in question will be scratched. A swimmer may enter any number of individual events in which the qualifying time standard has been met, however a swimmer may only swim three (3) individual events per day and a total of six (6) individual events during the meet. Teams are limited to no more than two entries per relay event. Bonus events will be permitted for this meet according to the following: Individual event qualifying times Bonus events permitted 1 2 2 2 3 1 4 or more 0 Unregistered swimmers may not be added to a team’s roster. Relay-only swimmers may not be added to a team’s roster. New Qualifying Times: Swimmers achieving new qualifying times between Jul 1, 2021 and Jul 4, 2021 may enter through a secondary New Qualifying Times OME. OME for New Qualifying Times Opens: 12:01 AM EDT Jul 1, 2021 OME for New Qualifying Times Closes: 8:59 PM EDT Jul 4, 2021 Bonus events for new qualifiers must be entered by override using any proven time from the meet's qualifying period. Standard entry fees apply. Late Entries: Late entries will be accepted through a secondary Late Entry OME, provided the entry cap has not been reached.

In addition, a onetime fee of $100 per team will be charged for late entries. No entries will be accepted after the late entry OME closes. Deck Passes: Deck passes for team coaches with current USA Swimming coaching credentials will be available based on the following formula: 1-7 Swimmers; 2 deck passes 8-15 Swimmers; 3 deck passes 16-23 Swimmers; 4 deck passes 24- 32 Swimmers; 6 deck passes Over 32 Swimmers; 7 deck passes Deck passes for coaches must be purchased through OME prior to checking out. The cost of these deck passes are $20 each. The cost to replace a lost or missing deck pass at the venue will be $50. Entry Fees: $15.00 per individual event Relay Fees: $30.00 per relay Surcharge: $30.00 per athlete Coach Deck Pass: $20.00 per pass Responsibility The coach, swimmer or swimmer representative who enters these championships Clause: thereby attests that all times stated are true and correct as achieved qualifying times for each event entered. He/she assumes all responsibility for false or incorrect times, or times which are unacceptable under USA Swimming rules, and shall be assessed a $50 penalty for each such time entered. Refunds: Once a team or individual entry has been received and processed, there will be no refunds. Seeding: All preliminary heats and timed finals events will be seeded in order of LCM, SCY and then any bonus entries in the same order. Heats will be ordered fastest to slowest except as otherwise noted in this meet announcement. Women’s and men’s preliminary sessions may be combined (Order of Events Option #1) or separated (Order of Events Option #2). The final decision regarding the preliminary session order of events will be made by meet management following the close of entries. In the event preliminaries are separated by gender all women’s heats will be swum followed by all men’s heats after a minimum 60-minute break. Option #1 Order of Events preliminary heats may be swum in flights at meet management discretion. Finals will be swum in event order. The order of the final heats will be A then B then C. Distance: Women and men will enter the 800 and 1500 freestyle through OME in separate events. They will compete in single mixed event seeded by time which will be resulted and scored separately. 800-Freestyle - Positive check-in by the scratch deadline for Thursday’s 800 free is required to compete. Heats will be swum slowest to fastest with the fastest eight women in the second last heat and the fastest eight men in the last heat. The last heat will
Rev 5/18/2021 conclude approximately 10 minutes prior to the start of warm-ups for Thursday’s Sprint Session. 1500-Freestyle – Positive check-in by the scratch deadline for Sunday’s 1500 free is required to compete. Heats will be swum slowest to fastest with the fastest eight women in the second last heat and the fastest eight men in the last heat. The last heat will conclude approximately 10 minutes prior to the start of warm-ups for finals. Relays: Positive check-in is not required. All relays will swim in the preliminary sessions. If preliminary heats are swum in flights, the relays will be swum between the A and the B flight. Scratches: Scratches from timed final events and preliminary heats will be accepted until the deadlines listed below. Please email or text your scratches from timed final events or preliminaries to the administrative referee for your site. Any swimmer who competes in preliminary heats and qualifies for finals must declare his/her possible intention to scratch within thirty (30) minutes of the announcement of the preliminary results of that event and further declare their final intention within 30 minutes of their last individual preliminary event. Scratches from finals may be done by email or text to the administrative referee or in person. Scoring: Results from the individual sites will not be scored. The top 24 places from finals in the combined results will be scored as follows: Individual: 32,28,27,26,25,24,26,22,20,17,16,15,14,13,12,11,9,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 Relays: 64,56,54,52,50,48,46,44,40,34,32,30,28,26,24,22,18,14,12,10,8,6,4,2 No points will be awarded when qualifying times are not achieved, but qualifying times may be achieved during prelims or finals. Awards: following awards will be given based on the combined results: Women and Men Individual High Point Women, Men, and Combined Team High Point Head Referee for Allan Golding Both Sites: Officials: An application for an Official’s Qualifying Meet will be made in May 2021. If granted, not all evaluations may be offered at both sites, and a given evaluation may be available at one site, but not the other. If Order of Events Option #2 is chosen, officials must officiate both women’s and men’s prelims sessions to be counted as a single evaluated session. Warmup/down is available in the adjacent outdoor 50-meter pool. Water depth at both competition starting end(s) is a minimum of (4) feet. Daktronics Timing System with full Video Scoreboard. The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). Entries: Enter through USA Swimming Online Meet Entry (OME) at www.usaswimming.org/ome. Search for “SZ South Sectional Site One”. OME Help: Allan Golding email: allan.c.golding@comcast.net All teams must pay via cash or check made out to “Gator Swim Club” upon arrival at the meet. All payments must be made before the team’s first swim. Camera Zone: The Florida Swimming CAMERA ZONE policy will be in effect. Per Florida Swimming Rule 223.13, Meet Management shall designate and inform the public of “Camera Zones” at each swim meet where both still photography and video photography of a race or a competitor in a race may be taken. Acceptable “Camera Zones” may include, but are not limited to the side courses of a pool, team gathering areas, concession area, turn-end of competition course when not in use as a “start-end,” etc. Meet Management shall also designate “Non-Camera Zones.” Under NO circumstances will Camera Zones include the area immediately behind the starting blocks at either end of the racing course(s) while they are in use for “race starting purposes” during competition and warm-ups, locker rooms, restrooms, or any other dressing area. Any individual failing to abide by this rule could be subject to the Florida Swimming Code of Conduct violation as defined in Rule 239.2.
Rev 5/18/2021 Meet Director: Erva Gilliam Site Referee: Sue Talwar Site Admin Official: Eva Gronke Admission: No spectator admission. Information: Erva Gilliam, Director of Swimming Operations, University of Florida, 352-375-4683x4545. Warm up: Only feet-first entries are allowed during warm-ups, except in designated lanes and times. No equipment (fins, snorkels, hand paddles, etc.) are permitted in the competition pool or outdoor warm-up/warm-down pool at any time. Violations may result in disqualification from next individual event or expulsion from the meet. A specific warmup plan with assignments will be published by meet management prior to the start of the meet. Based on the number of entries, warmups may be divided into multiple warmup groups at the discretion of meet management.
Rev 5/18/2021 COVID-19 SUPPLEMENT - GAINESVILLE This Plan Subject to Change or Modification Without Notice Face masks worn over the mouth and nose are required at all times inside the facility and in the outdoor pool area for coaches, officials, volunteers, and swimmers (while not swimming). Upon arrival at the facility, participants, officials, volunteers, and coaches will check-in outside of Gate 2. At check-in they will be presented with the pre-event health and safety questions. Only those who pass the screening will be permitted to enter the building. Individuals will be screened prior to the event, including the following questions: • To your knowledge, have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days? • Do you have ongoing, new, or unexpected symptoms of COVID-19, which may include a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, muscle or body aches, vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of taste or smell? • If the answer is YES to ANY of the above questions, the individual will not be permitted to enter the building and/or participate. Swimmers may bring water bottles/drinks for themselves, as well as small, individual snacks. Swimmers may eat ONLY while they are seated in the bleachers. Coaches, officials, and volunteers will have access to drinks and food items in a hospitality area on the outside pool deck. Food items may ONLY be eaten while outside; eating will not be permitted in the indoor pool deck. Locker rooms may be used by athletes only for changing and restrooms, but showers will not be available. Separate restrooms will be provided for coaches, officials, and volunteers. Deck occupancy: • Only eight coaches may be on the deck at any time during competition, a maximum of one for each swimmer in a given heat. • Only swimmers participating in the active heat will be allowed at the starting blocks. • The swimmers for the next heat only, may wait in a designated area six feet behind the starting blocks. • Following the conclusion of each race, the swimmers will clear the pool and proceed to the warm-up/cool- down pool. • Officials will indicate when the swimmers for the next heat may approach the starting blocks. • Lap counters will be limited to one per lane. Teammates may not sit on the bulkhead during events to cheer. Physical distancing of at least six feet will be maintained on the deck and in the bleachers. O’Connell Center staff will roam the bleacher area to enforce mask and distancing policies. Participants that do not comply with these policies will be told to leave the event. Meet officials will enforce the separation of swimmers between heats and maintain distancing on the pool deck. Seating for athletes and coaches will be provided in the natatorium bleachers and under tents host team will set up on the outdoor pool deck. • Every other row, starting with the first row, closest to the deck, will be closed. • Available seats will be marked and will be separated by at least six feet. Swim teams will be provided designated bleacher and outdoor tent sections. Swimmers must maintain six feet physical distance within these sections. Hand sanitizer stations will be available in the following locations: • Gate 2 entry • Officials table • Pool concourse/bleacher entrance • Outdoor deck/officials’ meal area O’Connell Center staff will spray all seating areas, rails, and high-touch surfaces with electrostatic sprayers prior to the event.
Rev 5/18/2021 SPECTATOR PROTOCOLS • No spectators will be allowed in the building. Athletes, officials, coaches, and volunteers only. The meet will be live streamed. • Tents and chairs are acceptable outside the building, but county social distancing requirements must be adhered to at all times. COMPLIANCE ATTESTATION • In applying for this sanctioned event, the Host, Gator Swim Club, agrees to comply and to enforce all health and safety mandates and guidelines of USA Swimming, Florida Swimming, the State of Florida and the county of Alachua.

All payments must be made before the team’s first swim. Camera Free Zone: The Florida Gold Coast Swimming CAMERA FREE ZONE policy is in effect at the Academic Village site. No person may use a camera or any other device capable of recording still or video images in the area behind the starting blocks, in the locker rooms, changing areas, showers or restrooms. Violators may be reported to law enforcement or other governmental authorities and/or may be barred from the facility during the sanctioned event. Conflict of Interest: Unauthorized sale, advertisement, and promotion of products and/or services at the location of the competition as well as its vicinity are not allowed without written approval of the meet host and meet director. No equipment (fins, snorkels, hand paddles, etc.) are permitted in the competition pool or warm-up/warm-down pool at any time. Violations may result in disqualification from next individual event or expulsion from the meet. A specific warmup plan with assignments will be published by meet management prior to the start of the meet. Based on the number of entries, warmups may be divided into multiple warmup groups at the discretion of meet management.
Rev 5/18/2021 COVID-19 SUPPLEMENT - PLANTATION This Plan Subject to Change or Modification Without Notice A statement of the local protocols and requirements; 1. Normal maximum capacity is well in excess of 800 individuals. This meet will be capped at 400 athletes and 75 coaches, officials and volunteers per session. The warm-up and warm down lanes will be limited to four swimmers per lane. 2. No groups larger than 10 individuals. 3. At least 6 feet social distance required between groups (Broward Co. Emergency order 20-21) 4. Swimmers, coaches, officials and volunteers with be offered hand sanitizer upon entry/exit from pool. 5. Face coverings are mandatory for all swimmers (except when warming up/down or competing), coaches, officials, and volunteers. 6. Parents drop off and pick up swimmers in a car line. 7. No spectators will be permitted on pool deck. The plan for spectator ingress and egress; There will be no spectator access to the pool deck. The event will be live-streamed and parents may watch from inside their POV in the pool parking lot. The planned number of individuals gathering in the spaces: pool, deck, spectator seating, etc.; 400 athletes per session. 375 persons max on the pool deck. Safe sport considerations to ensure parents have access to and/or the opportunity to observe their child; and Event will be livestreamed (see above). An attestation statement in which the meet host attests that the conduct of the meet will adhere to local jurisdictional guidelines. Suggested language: In applying for this sanction(ed event), the Host, City of Plantation agrees to comply and to enforce all health and safety mandates and guidelines of USA Swimming, Florida Gold Coast Swimming, the State of Florida and City of Plantation and Broward County_ (City and County).
