YOUR MONTHLY AMHERST PTA UPDATE July 2020 THIS YEAR - A NOTE FROM THE PTA CHAIR What a year! In a good way! It was a great experience of leading the Amherst PTA for the 2019/20 school year. We have organised so many fun activities; the Amherst children and their families had a good time while raising an amazing amount of money for our Amherst Grand Design Project. My thanks goes to the fantastic PTA Lead team members - it was fabulous working together; seeing small ideas on our WhatsApp chat become a successful event with everybody contributing towards the ideas. I would also like to say thank you to Mr Reid, our teachers and the members of staff, especially our school office who supported our PTA Team enormously. AND the sheer level of support we have had from our Amherst families - I simply cannot thank you enough. Needless to say, our events have been somewhat hampered because of lockdown and whilst your PTA has been working hard to keep it going, we are just really excited to be back in September (hopefully!) so we can pick back up, run the events we had to postpone and also think up some new wonderful ideas! So this newsletter is really just a glimpse back over the year, at all the fun we have had, an update on our fund raising and also a small glimpse into the next school year, about what we have lined up... and before you know it, it will be Christmas!!!! September will see us kick things off with a cake and uniform sale - we are already thinking of how to adapt our traditional fundraising events to the current situation. We will be in touch with you at the start of term to let you know about the exciting events we have lined up for you. We will also be updating you on the Amherst Grand Design Project. Have a wonderful, restful summer and look after yourselves, Suse OUR YEAR IN PICTURES

Yr 4 Rina N - Emma G - Oliver B As well as gorgeous food, we had a quiz (did you guess all teacher baby photos correctly??) and our Amherst Spotify playlist (put together by our children - thank goodness Gangnam Style is no longer popular!) and our families got to BBQ with friends either in person or virtually.
