Medjool dates are a variety of dates enjoyed for their natural sweetness. They’re larger, darker, and Jannat Adan Farms Company (JAFCO) 9
more caramel-like in taste than other common types like Deglet Noor. As tropical stone fruits, they have
a single pit surrounded by edible flesh. Medjool dates are popular in Jordan. Here are a few facts:
- The number of palm trees in Jordan is about half a million.
- The volume of investment in the palm sector in Jordan exceeds half a billion dollars.
- The number of workers in the palm cultivation and production sector in Jordan is approximately
7,000 workers, of whom about 40% are women.

Jana Farms of Jordan

Palmera Dates Agriculture and Trading
Palmera Dates Agriculture and Trading in Jordan, established in 2019 as the culmination of previous
joint ventures between Alfoah Company and The Blume Group for Agricultural Investments in
Jordan over the past two years. It is a unique model of public-private sector partnership in The

Jordan River Dates
Bringing in more than 30 years of experience in the agricultural sector, Jordan River Dates was
launched in year 2000 under the umbrella of ‘White Sand Palm Dates Farms’ which was established
in 1971.
This new launch marked a shift from planting bananas, citrus trees, and vegetables towards planting
Date Palm trees. Jordan River dates aims at being the apex leader in the date agricultural sector in
