What is an AP Course? AP = “ ADVANCED PLACEMENT” This is a COLLEGE-LEVEL COURSE BENEFITS: Prepares a student for the rigor of college In May, AP Students may take an exam ($92); many colleges grant college credit for specific AP test scores SHOULD I TAKE AN AP COURSE??? Check pre-requisites; Talk to your teachers and parents Some AP Courses require a contract, summer assignments or an application. Make sure you want this; read the Course Commitment on the back of your Enrollment Card.

End-of-Instruction/EOI Tests Linked to Graduation: TO RECEIVE A DIPLOMA, All 3 of the following must be met: 1. Must pass: English 10 Algebra 1 2. Must pass two others: English 11, Geometry, Algebra II, Biology, US History 3. Must take all tests if you take the course - - even if you’ve met the above passing scores.

CCEN in the South County Collegiate Academy (SCCA) Dual Enrollment •Transportation and books Program: Earn provided; Discounted fees. credit in up to 8 college classes at •Courses occur during 1st and 2nd the Glenpool TCC hours of the high school schedule campus •Specific courses are required (see Course Guide for list) •Students must meet all of the CCEN requirements but they will begin enrollment for these courses through the JHS Guidance Office
AP Capstone New Diploma Program Offered by the College Board: Apply critical thinking, collaborative problem-solving, and research skills in a cross-curricular context. Other considerations when choosing your courses: Oklahoma’s Promise NCAA • Need-Based Tuition • Division 1 and 2 Payment Program for eligibility requires 16, in-state colleges & pre-approved core universities courses(Not computer • Income eligibility technology) and has required GPA and ACT requirements. • Required GPA/courses (Some Special Education courses not accepted.) Jenks Virtual School -Independent Study courses for self-motivated students -3rd or 4th hour for Tech Students may be required -Maximum of 2-courses On Enrollment Card: Write the correct course number and indicate that it’s an “online” course. -Online, core courses NOT accepted by NCAA-
Honors You May Earn: Distinguished Graduate -Earn a cumulative 3.50 GPA -No semester grade below a C -2 years of the same foreign language -Specific, rigorous courses are required, including an AP Course
Honors You May Earn Distinguished Service Graduate Earn 200 volunteer service hours in high school. Minimum of 25 hours must be through a JHS club or organization

TS = “Teacher (Coach or Sponsor) Signature” Examples: Math, Athletics, Debate, Film, Orchestra, Marketing I have it! = you’ve been pre-approved; Write course on your enrollment card as 1st choice No ‘TS’ = You have to wait for try-out, or for your contract to be approved or prerequisite to be confirmed. List as an ALTERNATE CHOICE on the same line as the class you want dropped
