PRESS RELEASE PARIS, 7 MARCH 2019 PREMIERE CLASSE REVEALS THE TRENDS OF AN EVER-EVOLVING WORLD This Fashion Week, Premiere Classe established itself more than ever before as an essential fashion event rich with talent from all over the world. Under the artistic direction of Thomas Phélizon, the event was transformed into a dynamic “micro climat” bringing together 420 brands (385 fashion accessories brands and 35 ready-to-wear), 70 of which presented for the first time. In the heart of Paris Fashion Week at Jardin des Tuileries, Premiere Classe saw an overall increase in visitors, with a notable international presence. In a constant search for unique and innovative designers, this edition Premiere Classe gave prominence to the collision of materials, textures and colours. More than just a blank canvas that supports future collections, Premiere Classe promotes encounters and connections. By reimagining the area through a human prism, the three tents - Louvre, Tuileries and Concorde - reclaimed their role as a driver of fashion on the sidelines of a lively climate. New connections based on shared artistic values were made with significant names in international fashion. Shanghai Fashion Week referent NOT SHOWROOM presented four designers for the first time in Europe at Premiere Classe: Boundless, WHM, Cough in vain and Yirantian Jewelry. In turn, they will showcase French accessories brands An hour and a shower, Maison Boinet, My bob and Aristide at their Shanghai showroom from 29th March - 3rd April. South African designers exclusively in Paris: Named by Forbes in 2011 as one of the most influential African women under the age of 40, Khanyi Dhlomo showcased talented south African designers she supports. Visitors sipped on Mandela tea and nibbled on nougat from 1701 whilst browsing Maxhosa’s oversized pieces and Suki Suki’s beauty products. Khanyi Dhlomo & Mandela Tea
PRESS RELEASE PARIS, 7 MARCH 2019 Three tents, three “micro climats” and one vision: an inclusive fashion experience In the heart of Premiere Classe, the Tuileries Tent orchestrated a gallery of exceptional designers and brands. For both regular Youwei exhibitors and newcomers, being in the central tent at the heart of Fashion Week is an important symbol. High-end jewellery brand Djula, who has boutiques all over Paris including one on rue Saint-Honoré, was delighted to meet new clients. The designer of New York-based brand Lulu Frost highlighted a rare sense of freedom for such a large event, as well as an extraordinary number of international visitors that allowed her to further develop her brand. New names were discovered in the Louvre Tent, a place where brands with a strong identity were showcased by young, innovative designers. Bold accessories, instagrammable bags and highly desired sunglasses were a sensation. visuels 3 For Gaëlle Constantini, the event boosted young talents. It’s thanks to Premiere Classe that the young designer has realised her own potential: “The tradeshow allowed me to connect with clients and explain my brand ethos to them. This year I was able to overcome barriers and make myself known amongst the Japanese market.” For the designer of the scarf brand St. Pieces London, “It’s an important meeting point for designers. I’ve been coming to Premiere Classe for more than five years and each time I make connections with people from all over the world.” The Concorde Tent was transformed into an unmissable showroom where visitors discovered a selection of creative brands and designers. Amongst them, couture designer Edward Achour: “I feel like I’m in my own boutique - I bump into long-time clients and meet new ones. It’s a pleasure to end Fashion Week here!” The excitement felt by the young designer of fine jewellery brand Tityaravy was particularly touching: “It’s my first time exhibiting at Premiere Classe. I feel so much kindness, it’s incredible. Neighbouring stands have also come to view my collections and give me encouragement. Premiere Classe is not just a show, it’s about the people you meet and the Pop-up store Jean Louis connections you make.” Connections which, for the first time, were opened up to the public. The pop-up store created by Jean Louis, an icon of the March 2018 Closing Party Premiere Classe x Jean Louis la Nuit edition, brought together a selection of accessories, ready-to-wear and lifestyle brands. Visitors were able to shop a curated selection of vintage and take home their favourite pieces. This season, however, Jean Louis was more than just an icon. The Premiere Classe community celebrated its Closing Party at Jean Louis La Nuit, the newest Parisian disco-store. Located at 66 rue Jean Jacques Rousseau, the venue brings together fashion, art, music and partying through the prism of young French and international talents. In keeping with the perpetual buzz of the city, the venue reinvents itself every six months with new talents.
PRESS RELEASE PARIS, 7 MARCH 2019 A coherent “micro climat” This season, technical and creative excellence responded to current issues. The result: a more responsible and inclusive event. Aristide Visitors discovered committed associations including la Réserve des arts, La Fabrique nomade and Refugee Food Festival. Designer Catherine Osti confirmed that diversity is essential for an event to be appreciated by both exhibitors and visitors: “It allows you to immerse yourself in the worlds of others. As an exhibitor, it’s important to discover brands that offer accessories different from your own.” Diversity, collaborations, places to relax and talk - Premiere Classe offers unmissable moments during Fashion Week.
