SPECIAL EVENTS SEEDS OF HOPE FILM SCREENING & PANEL DISCUSSION Seeds of Hope is a short documentary film by award-winning filmmaker Jon Bowermaster. Filmed over four seasons in the Hudson Valley at the Native American Seed Sanctuary, the film follows the unique partnership between the Indigenous Seed Keepers Network, Seedshed, the Hudson Valley Farm Hub, and a group of Haudenosaunee cultural leaders and environmental activists from Akwesasne as they honor Mohawk/Iroquois seeds that are at risk of disappearing. SEED CONFERENCE SPONSORS The film will be followed by a panel of people from the film including Rowen White, Ken Greene, and Mary Arquette. TASTE MAKERS: CULINARY BREEDING & CHEF/FARMER COLLABORATIVES What is the relationship between seed, food, our plates, and palates? Hear different not-for-profit and for-profit perspectives on working with culinary professionals to help direct breeding goals, including Seedshed’s Kitchen Cultivars, Johnny’s Seeds Northeast Seed-to-Table Initiative, Row 7, and Invincible Summer Farms. Case studies will be followed by a brainstorm and conversation about sensory evaluations—how each presenter does them, lexicons, and how to structure a public tasting or in-house tasting. WONDER OF SEEDS VIDEO BOOTH Come visit Seedshed’s booth at the tradeshow and be part of our collaborative video all about the Wonder of Seeds!
