Irish Renewable Energy Summit 2021 Driving Ireland’s green recovery THURSDAY 25 T H FEBRUARY 2021 • ONLINE CONFERENCE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SPONSORED BY ORGANISED BY
Irish Renewable Energy Summit 2021 The major annual conference for the Irish renewables sector The Annual Irish Renewable Energy Summit provides a valuable opportunity to bring together the key stakeholders from across the energy sector, and those who interact with the energy sector to discuss how the contribution from renewable energy can be maximised and implemented most effectively. Although there are a number of events on individual types of renewable energy, previous Renewable Energy Summits have demonstrated the need for a single event that brings together the whole renewable sector and, importantly, brings in the wider energy audience. Programme for Government Renewable energy is central to the Government’s ambitions and those actions detailed in the Programme for Government which was agreed between the coalition parties in June 2020 and these include: 70% electricity from renewables by 2030 First RESS auction by end 2020, with auctions each year after Second RESS auction for offshore wind in 2021 Realise the potential of Ireland’s offshore renewables with 5GW offshore wind by 2030 “Ireland has some of the best In addition to setting renewable energy targets the PfG has a focus on natural renewable sources of offshore energy that includes a cross-Government priority for a Marine energy in the world. Our wind and Planning and Development Bill. There is also a section on solar, wind, wave power is the envy of most bioenergy and green hydrogen. countries. We have at our disposal the means to break our dangerous dependence while creating the jobs and investment of the future.” — Eamon Ryan TD
This is why you need to be at the Irish Renewable Energy Summit 2021 The 2021 Summit comes at pivotal time, as the Programme for Government will see a step change in the development of renewables over the coming decade. This is reflected in the Summit programme content: • Pathways to 7% GHG reduction ambition and role of renewable energy technologies Conference format • Realising offshore wind target of 5GW by 2030 We have invested in a professional online platform which will allow • Decarbonising Ireland’s gas network speakers and delegates to follow the normal structure of a conference. This will include: • Renewable fuels in transport • Chair and speakers on screen during the session • The potential for storage and hydrogen use in Ireland • Speakers will be able to use their PowerPoint slides and video • Interaction with senior audience through Q&A session, with delegates being able to post questions, moderated by the chair • A chat facility for delegates to make comments, moderated by Energy Ireland • Technical support throughout the event Benefits of attending: • A handout facility will allow delegates to receive relevant documentation Delegates will get a ‘conference experience’ that goes beyond the normal • Discuss the role of renewables in the energy video conferencing meeting formats. transition • Hear directly from developers of renewable energy • Learn about innovative projects being implemented
