A CITY MADE FOR YOU Manchester is one of Europe’s great cities with a unique character. As well as two of the world’s most successful football clubs, you will also find a range of sporting options including basketball, gymnastics, swimming, taekwondo, cycling and squash. The city has a famous history. For example, England’s first free public library opened in Manchester in 1852, and the scientist John Dalton developed his pioneering atomic theory in Manchester in 1803. Manchester’s history can also be found in its many museums as well as on its streets and buildings, with architecture that ranges from medieval to modern. It is a city with innovation and creativity, across everything from science and industry to the arts and media. That’s what makes it home to key UK media organisations such as the BBC and many art galleries, theatres, cinemas and music venues. “I love the fact that The Manchester Bee Manchester is an extremely The worker bee is a student-friendly city.
