First multi-state truck pilot • 50 vehicles equipped with EROAD GNSS hardware for six month. • EROAD to help study if there are potential synergies in the data collected for the various regulations and agreements already in place i.e. IFTA. • Steering Committee members include IBTTA and the American Trucking Association. Trucks have been collecting MBUF data for decades as part of Example of One Truck’s Trip Within the I-95 Corridor the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) 13

Conclusion • The goals of compliant heavy vehicle operators are often more aligned than not with the goals of public value delivering agencies • Experience shows that eRUC systems can offer: 1. a step up in capability both for commercial operators and for road managers, 2. A reduction in the traditional frustrations that cause tension between these parties • This is not guaranteed – it must be recognized, valued, and designed for. 19
