Our mission is to empower people to make media that matters. We do this by providing residents with the knowledge, resources, and tools to create their own original programming. tvsb operates two community access channels, TVSB Voice (17) and TVSB Culture (71). With studios at 329 South Salinas Street, TV Santa Barbara provides members with access to video production equipment and electronic media resources to facilitate public dialogue, free speech and participatory democracy; to foster local creativity, education and culture; and to reflect our diverse and amazing community. Message from the Executive Director freedom of Expression Since 1974, TV Santa Barbara has been the one place where every member of our community can make themselves seen and heard. Today, TV Santa Barbara continues to share diverse community stories through uninterrupted non-commercial programming. Non-Profit Amplification In response to the impacts of COVID-19, tvsb shifted production efforts and provided free video services to a wide variety of non- profit organizations in need. 805 Inspires! was created to support cultural institutions in the County. Our streaming services were used to help keep lectures, civic forums and the arts alive in Santa Barbara. Empowering the Next Generation One of our most important endeavors is to provide tools and training for the youth in our community. In collaboration with The County Office of Arts, tvsb produced 15-minute family-friendly videos for local museums, gardens and cultural institutions to support these important organizations during very challenging times.
