Depart London on the Orient Express

This morning begin your trip from London Victoria on the Belmond Pullman train. Enjoy a light brunch as you journey through the English countryside to Folkestone where a luxury coach takes you through the tunnel. Waiting for you on the other side is the Venice Simplon Orient Express. This iconic train has been finished to a refined art and you have the choice between three types of accommodation. See below for more information. The skilled French Chef will prepare a sumptuous 4 course dinner to re-awaken your taste buds! While away the hours in relaxation as you travel through Europe. Enjoy fine dining in one of the three wonderful dining carts along with fantastic entertainment. Overnight in a Cabin on board. A la Carte Optional Extras Venice Simplon Orient Express - Upgrade to a Twin Cabin Suite Why not upgrade to a Twin Cabin Suite. Instead of having one room with bunk beds, the Cabin Suites give you a second room. You can either stay with the bunk beds and have one room for daytime and one for night use, or alternatively have the beds positioned on the floor per room. Price Per Person: From £2,170 Venice Simplon Orient Express - Upgrade to a Grand Suite The Grand Suites features a double/twin bedroom, living area with space for private dining and a sofa which can be converted into an additional bed in the evening. A private en-suite bathroom includes shower, washbasin and toilet. Enjoy the celebrated 24-hour cabin service complemented by free-flowing champagne in your suite. Day 2 Arrive in Venice and Transfer to your Hotel After a good night’s sleep in your cabin, wake up to a delicious breakfast served in your cabin or in the Art Nouveau styled Bar Car. Enjoy a 3 course lunch in one of the three restaurant cars – The Cote d’Azur with blue opaque glass classical figures, The Etoile du Nord with fantastic marquetry of wood, brass and ivory, or L’Oriental which has been remastered to include black lacquer panels as its trademark. Watch the majestic mountains and countryside transform outside as the train travels through the Swiss Alps, then the Italian Dolomites before arriving at its destination at Venice Station. On arrival in Venice, your shared watertaxi transfer will take you to your 4 star hotel, Palazzo St Angelo. Located right on the Grand Canal, this hotel is the perfect place to immerse yourself in all things Venice. Close to the Rialto Bridge, you are in the main hub of traditional Venice, but also an easy walk from St Mark’s Square. Alternatively, if you really want to celebrate in style, why not upgrade to our 5 star hotel Sina Centurion Palace, located on Guidecca with incredible views. A la Carte Optional Extras Upgrade to 5 Star Sina Centurion Palace, Venice This stunningly well located 5 star luxury hotel is right on the Grand Canal with sweeping views diagonally to St Mark’s Square. There is a tranquil traditional Venetian internal garden, which contrasts smoothly with the lively Venetian crowds, along with the cloisters of San Gregorio Monastery. The latter of which is considered the oldest part of Venice. Also within an easy walk is the Basilica of Santa Maria della Saluta and the Guggenheim museum. Day 3 Day at Leisure Day at leisure with your Venice Pass Card. This card provides free beat the queues access to the Doges Palace with Prison, along with St Mark’s Basilica. Alternatively, why not opt for one of our Optional Extras. We would particularly recommend the Highlights of Venice Tour, which includes your own private guide introducing you to the main sights. Just perfect for first timers to Venice. Alternatively, if you have been to Venice before, then our Islands Tour is the one to book. This evening you can add in a night at La Fenice Opera house. Please see below for more information. Overnight in Venice. A la Carte Optional Extras Venice - Private Highlights Tour For first timers to Venice, this is a great introduction. Your own private guide will take you on a 3-4 hr tour around the Basilica and Doges Palace. You will be able to walk through the prison made famous for temporarily housing Casanova, along with walking over the Bridge of Sighs; prisoners last glimpse of the outside world. Price Per Person: £230 per person Venice - Lagoon Island Regular Excursion Begin this 4hr excursion sailing past San Giorgio Maggiore before disembarking on your first island of Murano. Murano is known for its glass manufacturing and the tour includes a visit to one of the factories. Travel onwards to Burano, an archipelago of four islands, and sample the lace which Burano is famous for. Finish the tour on Torcello, visiting the cathedral and church on this quieter island. Venice - Semi Private Tour of Murano & Burano The boat will collect you and take you onto both Murano and Burano with your guide. For no more than 8 people in total, this semi private tour, also includes a glass blowing demonstration on Murano. Venice - Gondola Ride Take the complimentary hotel watertaxi into Venice to start your sunset gondola ride tour. Sit back and relax seeing this floating city the only way it can truly be seen. This evening attend the opera at La Fenice in your top seats. La Fenice, (The Phoenix) is aptly named as it has burnt down twice in its lifetime. It has been recently re-mastered to its current glory as one of the most famous theatres in Europe. Click on the first photo below for a short video. Venice - Musica a Palazzo Opera Evening Whether you are an opera lover wanting a new opera experience, or someone wanting a taster of the opera, this is a great option. Located just along the Grand Canal, this opera takes place right in front of you. There is no stage but only a limited number of chairs, with the singers performing right in front of you! Click on the first photo for a short video. La Traviata – Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays The Barber of Seville – Wednesdays and Sundays Rigoletto – Fridays Price: £100 per person. Day 4 Private Transfer to the Airport for flight home At leisure until your private transfer to the airport for your flight home. If however, you would prefer to return back to the UK by train, we can arrange the overnight sleeper train instead. The second is the Etoile du Nord with fantastic marquetry, and the last is L'Oriental which is stylised in black lacquer panels. Sina Palazzo Sant'Angelo (4 Star) - Venice This 4 star palazzo is ideal for those wanting a room with a view, whilst also being near to the heart of the main sights of this beautiful floating city. All rooms and suites are decorated in true Venetian style and with great views over the Grand Canal. Sina Centurion Palace (5 Star) - Venice Also within an easy walk is the Basilica of Santa Maria della Saluta and the Guggenheim museum.
