Keynote Session 1 13:30~14:30 Wed, August 10, 2022 Room (Conference Hall) Organizer: Nurilla Mahamatov (Turin Polytechnic University, Uzbekistan) Prof. Utkir Khamdamov (TUIT University, Uzbekistan) Problems of Improving the Computational Performance of Speech and Image Processing Systems Abstract The report is devoted to the issues of modeling and developing a speech synthesizer for the Uzbek language, the problems of creating a linguistic corpus of texts in the Uzbek language, as well as processing audio fragments of synthesized speech. Since the speech synthesizer is a tool for solving many linguistic problems. Speech synthesis tasks can be applied to public announcement systems in the transport sector, educational processes and libraries in the education sector, as well as call centers in the communications sector. In addition, the issues of digital image processing for the purpose of detecting, extracting and recognizing objects from it are considered. Recognition of objects from images provides an opportunity to solve many socio-economic and technical problems, as well as security problems. Digital processing of speech signals and images, recognition of objects from images are very time-consuming tasks and require large computing resources. To solve problems with large computing resources, parallel and distributed computing algorithms based on multi-core, multi-processor and multi-machine technologies are used. Methods for using multi-core and graphic processors for digital processing of speech signals and images are proposed. 18❚August 10(Wed) - 13(Sat), 2022
Keynote Session 2 14:30~15:30 Wed, August 10, 2022 Room (Conference Hall) [ONLINE] Organizer: Nurilla Mahamatov (Turin Polytechnic University, Uzbekistan) Prof. Fulvio Valenza (Torino University, Italy) Novel Hybrid Threats In Smart Systems Abstract Nowadays, cyber-physical systems are ubiquitously present in our everyday life. Their usage spans many applications, like industrial control systems, modern buildings, homes, transportation, and critical infrastructures. Novel paradigms and technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Software Defined Network (SDN), Cloud and Edge Computing, made all of these devices and environments become "intelligent", interconnected, dynamic, and flexible, thus also sometimes known simply as "smart". The increasing use of these smart devices and environments is bringing a novel technological revolution, that generates new business opportunities across industry sectors from healthcare to transport and from agriculture to manufacturing and new functionality for consumers. However, these opportunities come with their own security challenges. Determining the potential threats in these smart systems and providing an adequate amount of protection is more challenging than in traditional computer systems for a variety of reasons that include low computational power, inadequate software quality, and also more importantly the fact that such environments combine human, physical and digital (cyber) aspects to the system design and implementation. Biography Fulvio Valenza is an assistant professor with time contract at Politecnico di Torino. His main research interests are in the areas of cybersecurity and network management, with a special focus on the analysis, verification, and refinement of Security and Access Control Keynote Sessions❚19
Policies. He has also been working on modeling and automatically configuring Network Security Functions (NSF), security orchestration in virtualized networks, and modeling, analysis, and mitigation of threats in smart and distributed systems. He served also as workshop co-chair of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th edition of SecSoft, as Guest Editor for Elsevier Computer Network and IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management, as a TPC member in several international conferences and workshops on computer and network security (e.g., Netsoft, NOMS, Mobisec, SN, Globecom CISS ), and as also reviewer for several international journals on network and computer security. He has been also involved in different EU projects: FP7 SECURED, H2020 SHIELD, H2020 Rainbow, H2020 ASTRID, of which he serves as leader on the Security Orchestration working package. 20❚August 10(Wed) - 13(Sat), 2022
Keynote Session 3 16:00~17:00 Wed, August 10, 2022 Room (Conference Hall) Organizer: Khalim Khujamatov (Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Uzbekistan) Prof. Aydogan Ozdemir (Istanbul Technical University, Turkey) Gamification Approaces to Increase Smal Scale Users’ Flexibility Abstract The growing energy demand poses new challenges in terms of low carbon emissions to our society and to the environment. Improved Energy efficiency is one of the initiatives of the European Commission to achieve the European Union energy and climate change policy objectives. There is therefore a strong commitment at EU level to integrate smart grid technologies that trigger energy efficiency and to speed up the stakeholder adoption of these technologies. GReSBAS project that was participated by two research institutions and one manufacturing company from Turkey and Portugal aimed to contribute to achieving the above aims through its innovative and comprehensive ICT and human factors-based solution, consisting of a gamification platform for buildings’ users, which can be used by building owners, aggregators, energy retailers. The core objective of GReSBAS was to promote, stimulate and deliver energy efficiency through behavioral change. To encourage a more efficient energy utilization and more responsible consumer behavior, the gamification platform was used to motivate behavioral change by fostering awareness and consumer engagement through a pervasive application that analyses context, sends personalized messages, and manages gamified peer competition and feedback. This presentation will discuss the results of a 13-month field demonstration (4-month monitoring period is followed by a 9-month) period of a gamified residential demand management platform. in four houses in Istanbul, Turkey. Keynote Session 5 09:40~10:20 Thu, August 11, 2022 Room (Conference Hall) [ONLINE] Organizer: Javlonbek Abdujalilov (Turin Polytechnic University, Uzbekistan) Prof. Sevinc GULSECEN (Istanbul University, Turkey) How AI Strategies of Different Countries Will Shape the Human and Society? Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an area of strategic importance and a key driver of economic development. The literature acknowledges the importance of AI as an economic growth engine. As it was stated in (1) modern dictionary definitions focus on AI being a sub-field of computer science and how machines can imitate human intelligence (being human-like rather than becoming human). Generally, it may be understood as the study of how to produce machines that have qualities of the human mind (at least some) , such as the ability to understand language, recognize pictures, solve problems, take decisions and learn. Other authors consider AI ‘broadly defined as the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs’. On the other hand, UNESCO states that ‘Artificial intelligence can be a great opportunity to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals. But any technological revolution leads to new imbalances that we must anticipate’ (2) AI entails a number of potential risks, such as opaque decision-making, gender-based or other kinds of discrimination, intrusion in our private lives, or being used for criminal purposes (3). Being ready to new imbalances causes different levels of anxiety for different institutions and countries. Starting from 2016, many countries announced their strategies, strategic plans or strategic events regarding the use of AI. For example in March 2017 Canada and Japan announced their Pan-Canadian AI Strategy and AI Technology Strategy respectively. In January 2018 Taiwan announced its Budget for AI, in May 2018 White House (USA) organized a Summit on AI. India, launched its AI Strategy in June 2018. In the Keynote Sessions❚23
year 2019, Lithuania and Spain announced Lithuania’s AI Strategy and Spanish RDI Strategy. In this presentation first we will discuss the importance of AI and its potential risks in different areas. Then, we will summarize some of the AI strategies of different countries, especially their content regarding enriching quality of human and societal life. Keynote Session 7 09:40~10:20 Fri, August 12, 2022 Room (Conference Hall) [ONLINE] Organizer: Jeongwon Kang (Korea National University of Transportation, Korea) Prof. Asifullah Khan PIEAS(Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Parkistan) Deep Channel Boosted CNN and Its Applications in Medical Image Analysis Abstract Deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is a specialized type of Neural Networks, which can automatically learn useful representations from the raw data. Deep CNN has shown exemplary performance on several Computer Vision and Image Processing related tasks due to its powerful learning ability. A number of deep CNN based models have also been successfully applied in several medical images related tasks, like cancer analysis, and COVID19 detection. Channel Boosting is a new idea to further enhance the learning capability of a deep CNN by generating boosted input channels. This combination of the original and auxiliary channels boosts the discrimination capability of the CNN. We have been utilizing this new idea of Channel Boosting in our different Medical image processing applications. In one of works, a new classification technique “CB-STM-RENet” based on the idea of Channel Boosting was proposed to detect COVID-19 in chest X-Rays. In another work, a new channel boosting based backbone architecture is developed to perform lymphocyte detection in IHC stained images. The developed feature extractor was incorporated in state-of-the-art MaskRCNN to learn the lymphocytic boundaries. To perform smooth and gradual merging of channels from different auxiliary learners we also developed a feature fusion-block. Research is still going on to investigate different architectures of this channel fusion block. 26❚August 10(Wed) - 13(Sat), 2022
