For me, the advantage of studying a Diploma at MIBT was completing my course in 8 months (I even got the chance to take one trimester off to travel overseas) and gaining direct entry into second year at Deakin University. Before coming to MIBT I had completed the first year of a Bachelor of Arts degree. I experienced entering university straight from secondary school and then via MIBT. The difference was at MIBT I learnt invaluable study techniques by professional and helpful lecturers. Skills such as assignment preparation, exam techniques and learning how to prepare myself for each class motivated me to excel in my studies and I am using these skills today at Deakin. After finishing Year 12, I came across an advertisement in the newspaper about MIBT. As I just missed out on direct entry into university, MIBT was the perfect option. It provided me with the means to get into second year of the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science without wasting any time. The small classroom-style of teaching made learning a lot easier. The lecturers were very helpful, and were easy to approach. It also made it easier to make friends as you belong to a class of people whom you see everyday. MIBT provided an environment where I progressed not just academically, but socially too. I got to know many international students, and learnt about their cultures and lives. This has also helped in making networks that would otherwise be a lot harder to form. I am both a MIBT and Deakin University graduate, and am now working as a Graphics and Multimedia Developer in South Melbourne. With a keen interest in Animation, I decided to choose MIBT because it offered courses and subjects which were relevant to what I wanted to study. At MIBT, there was a high level of academic and peer support that helped prepare me for University life. I also enjoyed the small class sizes as it was easier to make friends and interact with each other. The skills I learnt from MIBT and Deakin go beyond academic uses, I apply them at work everyday.
