Forest Hill Park Happenings HALLOWEEN HOWL • Best Pet Trick: Tiny “the dog who talks!” By Laura Dysart • Best Pet Trick Runner Up: Halloween Howl like so many things Rochester the dog who walks was a little different in 2020. Maggie in circles on two legs! n L. Walker Governor’s School senior, Jacob Lee, created a virtual event for us. Dog owners submitted pictures of their dog for a chance to win costume prizes, or a video to win best pet trick. The entries were amazing! The Friends of Forest Hill Park Junior group judged the precious pups. Prizes were donated by CritterTown BathHouse, Canine Adventure and FFHP. The event was free to all, but all donations will be split between Friends of Forest Hill Park and Ring Dog Rescue. We were glad to keep some form of this annual tradition in place, and hope to be live in the park for 2021! Friends of Forest Hill Park Junior might be the volunteer group for them! The group holds monthly clean up events, helps monitor the blue bird trail during the season, and participates in other events and activities to benefit the park and its use. COVID has thrown us off a bit in 2020, but we are resuming some modified socially distanced out door service opportunities. We will be looking for parents to help take one or two monthly shifts a year supervising the group beginning in the spring of 2021.
