WO R L D A M AT E U R TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS HOST COUNTRY INFORMATION IRELAND 2018 WELCOME The Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI) and the Irish Ladies Golf Union (ILGU) has the honour of hosting the prestigious 2018 World Amateur Team Championships (WATC) at Carton House near Dublin. C arton House’s two Championship Golf Courses – the “Montgomerie” and the “O’Meara” – will play host to the premier amateur events in world golf, where the prizes are the Espirito Santo Trophy for the Women’s World Amateur Team Championship, and the Eisenhower Trophy for the Men’s World Amateur Team Championship. WO R L D A M AT E U R TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS HOST COUNTRY INFORMATION IRELAND 2018 TEAM REGISTRATION Team Registration is located at Golfing Union of Ireland National Headquarters (near the Academy) in Carton House, at the following times: ESPIRITO SANTO TROPHY (WOMEN) SATURDAY 25TH AUGUST 2018: 1000hrs – 1800hrs SUNDAY 26TH AUGUST 2018: 0800hrs – 1800hrs EISENHOWER TROPHY (MEN) SATURDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER 2018: 0900hrs – 1700hrs SUNDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER 2018: 0800hrs – 1800hrs NOTE: Teams will not be allowed to play a practice round if they have not registered. WO R L D A M AT E U R TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS HOST COUNTRY INFORMATION IRELAND 2018 PRACTICE ROUNDS Each Team will be assigned one practice round time on each course. Practice round schedules will be allocated by the IGF and requests for specific times/courses will not be accepted. ESPIRITO SANTO TROPHY EISENHOWER TROPHY T eams missing assigned practice round times will not be permitted to play at another time unless there are exceptional circumstances, in which case any changes must be approved by the IGF in advance. Please note that it will not be considered exceptional circumstances if players/teams chose to travel on practice Monday 27th & Tuesday 28th August Monday 3rd & Tuesday 4th September round days. Furthermore, if inclement weather causes delay or cancellation of a practice round, that round will not be rescheduled. NOTE ON PRACTICE PRIOR TO THE CHAMPIONSHIPS: No practice is permitted at the site (including the courses, practice ranges, short game/practice putting areas, CADDIES etc.) 30 days in advance of the first scheduled practice round of the first scheduled championship, unless a player Caddies are not permitted during is a member of Carton House. WO R L D A M AT E U R TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS HOST COUNTRY INFORMATION IRELAND 2018 OFFICIAL PHASE 1 (OPENS ON 5 MARCH 2018) • U sers booking a group (ie more than 1 person) will create an account. CHAMPIONSHIP • A ll bookers (individual and group bookers) will input details, including dates of arrival and departure, and will select their order of preferences of accommodation. They will also indicate whether ACCOMMODATION they wish to avail of official transportation shuttle (only available from Dublin Airport) to their accommodation. • N o payments will be taken in phase 1, and it should be noted that due to the proportions of rooms available in each accommodation option, it is not possible for us to guarantee that everyone will Phase 1 of the Booking System for the receive their first choice(s) of accommodation. WO R L D A M AT E U R TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS HOST COUNTRY INFORMATION IRELAND 2018 ACCOMMODATION T he majority of the Official Championship Accommodation will be available in the Championship Village at Maynooth University. The OPTIONS Village will be created by the Championship Organising Committee on the Olympic Village Theme, and is situated 3kms from the Carton House estate, where the championships will be staged. A limited number of rooms are also available on the South Campus, which is a 10-minute walk from the hub of the Championship Village. Both of these locations will be serviced by regular shuttle buses which will stop at several locations on Maynooth Campus and at the Practice Ground and Hotel/Golf Course at Carton House. Carton House Hotel will be available as an accommodation option, with a limited supply of rooms indicating that early booking is advisable.

Those choosing to fly to another airport will be responsible for their own transportation arrangements. Dublin Airport is operated by the Dublin Airport Authority, and is one of the busiest airports in Europe, with nearly 30 million passengers passing through annually. The airport has an extensive short and medium-haul network served by a wide array of carriers as well as a significant long-haul network focused on North America and the Middle East. United States border preclearance services are available for US-bound passengers. Dublin Airport is located approximately 30 xxx minutes’ driving time from Maynooth, where both Carton House and Maynooth University are located. Free airport transportation will be available from Dublin Airport only to players, Team Captains, IGF Officials and Rules Officials. All others may be accommodated for a round-trip fee of €100.00 if their arrival / departure information is included on the official Airport Transfer Booking form (available on the Booking Platform).

WO R L D A M AT E U R TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS HOST COUNTRY INFORMATION IRELAND 2018 GALA DINNER A Gala Dinner for all participants will be held at the Phoenix Building in Maynooth University on Saturday September 1st 2018 in conjunction with the closing ceremony of the Espirito Santo Trophy. T he Gala Dinner provides an excellent opportunity for players, captains, Biennal Meeting Representatives, IGF officials and others to socialize, spending a pleasant evening dedicated to fellowship and goodwill with people of very diverse cultures and backgrounds. Officials of the IGF, Rules Officials, IGF Biennial Meeting Representatives, team captains and players are cordially invited as guests of the Irish Ladies Golf Union and Golfing Union of Ireland. For countries which have additional officials and supporters attending the Championships and who wish to attend the Gala Dinner, please note that there will be a charge of €60.00 per person for any additional guests. These charges are payable in advance through the booking platform or on site at team registration.

BIENNIAL MEETING The Biennial Meeting of the International Golf Federation will take place at 9am on Monday 3 September in the Carton Suites in Carton House. Delegates can avail of breakfast in the foyer area prior to the meeting. Please refer to the 2018 WATC Entries Guide for registration procedure.
