Vice President of Corporate Relations YWiB 2020/2021 YWiB SFU Young Women in Business (YWiB) SFU aims to create a central forum connecting ambitious, like-minded young women across all industries, careers, and educational backgrounds to achieve personal and professional success. YWiB SFU hosts engaging events and programs throughout the year for young women to develop tangible skills and connections and become leaders in their communities. As a natural communicator, you can deliver persuasive pitches, negotiate strategically with prospective partners, and share a contagious passion for the YWiB SFU brand. RESPONSIBILITIES ● Reach out to a variety of organizations with an ambitious and optimistic attitude and maintain a working relationship with potential partners throughout the term ● Coach and mentor the ins-and-outs of pitching and negotiating to a team of coordinators ● Update existing sponsorship package to align with overall organizational and portfolio-specific goals ● Coordinate with the VP Finance and Program Managers to determine areas of financial needs and strategize sponsorship accordingly ● Obtain sponsorships that enhance and support all programs and events ● Collaborate with VP Events to seek opportunities to partner with companies (i.e. office tours, workshops, networking events, etc.) REQUIREMENTS ● Embodies the 3 P’s of corporate relations: o Professional and confident when communicating with external stakeholders o Persuasive brand ambassador with an exceptional understanding of the value proposition that YWiB SFU offers to its prospective sponsors o Passionate about YWiB SFU’s vision with a talent for creating lasting partnerships ● Must be comfortable cold-calling or sending direct messages through various communication platforms ● Strong time management skills with abilities to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, G Suite (Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Forms) and Slack BONUS POINTS ● Previous experience obtaining both monetary and in-kind sponsorships ● Has taken a business writing class or equivalent (BUS 217W or BUS 360W) ● Experience in partner relations or client/customer-facing roles is an valuable asset ● Has previously established relationships with industry professionals that create an internal database for future partnerships 4
Vice President of Events YWiB 2020/2021 YWiB SFU Young Women in Business (YWiB) SFU aims to create a central forum connecting ambitious, like-minded young women across all industries, careers, and educational backgrounds to achieve personal and professional success. YWiB SFU hosts engaging events and programs throughout the year for young women to develop tangible skills and connections and become leaders in their communities. Bold, detail-oriented, and entrepreneurial, you enjoy the challenge of directing new initiatives and organizing events. With previous event planning experience under your belt, you want to do more than host fun socials; you are someone who can execute a vision and ultimately provide opportunities for YWiB members to make meaningful connections amongst one another. You will spearhead several major events throughout the year that will lead towards a tight-knit community for all YWiB program members and the executive team. RESPONSIBILITIES ● Lead the logistical and creative planning of our Launch Party and Year-End Wrap-Up ● Organize 3-4 events throughout the year that focus on facilitating connections between members and growing their professional and peer networks ● Manage all event operations including but not limited to, venue booking and preparation, catering, and logistics ● Collaborate with the Corporate Relations team to seek opportunities to partner with companies (i.e. office tours, workshops, networking events, etc.) ● Work closely with Presidents to brainstorm new ideas and approaches to increase engagement within the YWiB SFU community ● Collect feedback following all YWiB SFU events to track success and create post-event reports REQUIREMENTS ● Ability to utilize entrepreneurial skills to plan and host exciting new events ● Adaptable, well-organized, and ability to work under pressure ● Proven event planning skills is a valuable asset, with prior experience in organizing small to medium sized events (30-50 attendees) ● Coach and mentor the ins-and-outs of event planning and project management to a coordinator ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, G Suite (Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Forms) and Slack BONUS POINTS ● Previous experience in a leadership role ● Practical experience in event planning or project management (i.e. Co-op or internship) ● Has taken an introductory project management course or equivalent (i.e. BUS 361) ● Previous experience as a member of YWiB SFU 5
Vice President of Finance YWiB 2020/2021 YWiB SFU Young Women in Business (YWiB) SFU aims to create a central forum connecting ambitious, like-minded young women across all industries, careers, and educational backgrounds to achieve personal and professional success. YWiB SFU hosts engaging events and programs throughout the year for young women to develop tangible skills and connections and become leaders in their communities. Are you a wiz with numbers? Become our resident financial expert! Put your accounting and financial organization skills to the test. Your role involves forecasting budgets, tracking the executive teams’ spending, and creating reports with the SFU team and YWiB Board Finance Director to ensure we manage our money well! RESPONSIBILITIES ● Prepare a comprehensive annual budget that includes the projected expenditures and revenues for each event and operations portfolio ● Work with the Presidents to ensure that funds are being allocated and spent appropriately ● Hold primary signing authority for YWiB SFU’s reimbursements, bank account, and funds ● Meet regularly with each portfolio to ensure the budget is being upheld ● Collaborate with the IWD Chair to obtain funds and sponsorships for the event ● Organize finance portfolio to ensure policies and procedures are being followed ● Accurately track spending and deliver monthly reports to the YWiB Executive team ● Oversee day-to-day financial operations including but not limited to: o Revising event budgets and approving expenditures for a finalized budget o Submitting and tracking reimbursements o Preparing semi-annual and annual financial statements for the YWiB National team to review REQUIREMENTS ● Excellent communication skills to ensure all portfolios are operating within budget ● High attention to detail and time management skills to manage submission deadlines and process accordingly ● Ensure the financial integrity of YWiB SFU is upheld across all members ● Coach and mentor the ins-and-outs of budgeting and forecasting to a coordinator ● Ability to work with and and comfortably manage large data sets ● Experience with preparing detailed budgets and reconciling accounts ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, G Suite (Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Forms) and Slack BONUS POINTS ● Practical experience in accounting and/or finance (i.e. Co-op or internship) ● Has taken an introductory accounting and finance course (i.e. BUS 251, BUS 254, BUS 312) 6
Vice President of Internal Relations YWiB 2020/2021 YWiB SFU Young Women in Business (YWiB) SFU aims to create a central forum connecting ambitious, like-minded young women across all industries, careers, and educational backgrounds to achieve personal and professional success. YWiB SFU hosts engaging events and programs throughout the year for young women to develop tangible skills and connections and become leaders in their communities. For the fabulously organized, become the internal glue to our network! Correspond between the executive team, program members, and internal stakeholders to keep the team in check when it comes to all administrative work. Work with the executive team to ensure each member is up to date on all things YWiB and be the main point-of-contact for booking rooms, scheduling meetings, selling merchandise, and answering any administrative questions. RESPONSIBILITIES ● Maintain and facilitate effective internal communications through G Suite and Slack ● Manage communications between internal stakeholders including but not limited to, SFSS, Beedie SEO, internal members, and the executive team ● Schedule executive meetings and compile meeting minutes for future reference ● Assist Presidents with coordinator recruitment and following up with executive team members regarding deadlines, action items, and reminders ● Consistently release the Monthly Member Newsletters to YWiB SFU member mailing list ● Spearhead Clubs Day logistics, which includes booking spaces, designing promotional strategy, and being the main point of contact for all related inquiries ● Comfortable to mentor a coordinator and teach them the ropes of internal relations ● Research and order club merchandise for executive members and program events REQUIREMENTS ● Exceptional interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders ● Excellent organizational skills to keep internal functions as efficient as possible, such as reserving rooms for monthly meetings and assisting with behind-the-scenes administrative w ● Verbal and written communication skills to lead executive members towards successful program recruitment activities and write engaging Monthly Member Newsletters ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, G Suite (Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Forms) and Slack BONUS POINTS ● Previous administrative and/or HR-related experience is a valuable asset ● Previous experience working with internal stakeholders, including SFSS and Beedie SEO for room bookings and other related activities ● Proficiency using MailChimp or similar email marketing platform to create and send Monthly Member Newsletters 7

With a strong eye for design and social media skills, this is the perfect opportunity to strengthen your team leadership abilities while building your portfolio. Your role involves strategically planning and executing all of YWiB SFU’s general and program specific marketing. RESPONSIBILITIES ● Recruit and direct a coordinator team of 3-4 individuals including: o Graphic Design Coordinator (2) o Social Media Coordinator o Visual Media Coordinator ● Set policy and procedure standards with the executive team in terms of design request notice, social media post details, etc. ● Communicate with all Program Managers and VPs to ensure promotional materials are appropriate and timely ● Work with the IWD Organizing Committee to ensure that their vision is brought to life ● Design graphics for events and marketing campaigns throughout the year, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn ● Ensure all graphics and marketing campaigns are on-brand with YWiB National and YWiB SFU fonts, colours, and logos ● Design and update the YWiB SFU Board Space in WMC REQUIREMENTS ● Strong time management skills and the ability to deliver quality graphics in a timely manner with 2-3 weeks notice ● Excellent leadership skills to recruit and manage a portfolio specific team ● An expert in graphic design tools, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Indesign, and Photoshop) ● Comfortable enforcing deadlines with M&D coordinators and executive team ● Experience with social media analytics, content creation is a strong asset BONUS POINTS ● Experience in the form of co-op, internship, course etc. that is graphic design or marketing-related ● Practical experience in marketing and/or design (i.e. Co-op or internship) ● Any special certifications in social media/digital marketing/graphic design! 8

With previous community engagement and volunteering experience, you love to spread compassion and positivity, teach sustainability, and support your community. As YWiB’s expert in philanthropy and corporate social responsibility, you will not only lead a cohort of driven students, but also guide the executive team to incorporate philanthropic decisions in their work. RESPONSIBILITIES ● Work closely with the Presidents to ensure that YWiB SFU has a strong philanthropic vision for the year throughout all events and programs ● Organize and execute 3-4 philanthropic events throughout the year that focus on facilitating connections between members of the community ● Organize bi-weekly volunteering sessions with local non-profit organizations that relate to our mission and vision ● Collect feedback following every YWiB Connect event to better tailor future events and opportunities to program members and the community ● Communicate and work with with local charitable organizations and other SFU clubs to ensure a visible presence in the Greater Vancouver area and on campus ● Stay updated on current events and opportunities hosted by local non-profits and communicate them to all program members on a regular basis REQUIREMENTS ● Ability to lead a small, dynamic team to represent YWiB SFU at community events ● Proactive in identifying new opportunities, solving problems, and leading a close-knit cohort of engaged students ● Excellent time management, written communication, and organizational skills ● Experience working or volunteering with non-profit organizations ● Strong knowledge of social issues and current events within our community ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, G Suite (Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Forms) and Slack BONUS POINTS ● Has previously established relationships with local non-profit organizations ● Has taken a business writing class or equivalent (BUS 217W or BUS 360W) ● Previous experience as a member of the Connect program ● Must be passionate about giving back to the community! 9

YWiB SFU hosts engaging events and programs throughout the year for young women to develop tangible skills and connections and become leaders in their communities. Spearhead our SOUL (Supporting Our University Leaders) Mentorship Program, which is celebrating over 10 years in action! As a student leader who sees the value in mentorship opportunities, you are passionate about cultivating an experience that is focused on tangible growth and meaningful connections. You are comfortable speaking to SFU alumni and industry professionals, and are aware of the career aspirations of YWiB SFU members. For the detail-oriented and charismatic, this is an excellent chance to sharpen your project management and event planning skills, while expanding your own network. YWiB SFU hosts engaging events and programs throughout the year for young women to develop tangible skills and connections and become leaders in their communities. Spearhead the WISE (Women Investing in Skills and Experience) Workshop Series program that focuses on providing students with the opportunity to gain tangible skills and leave the program with industry knowledge and pieces to add to their portfolio. Sharpen your project management and networking skills while encouraging students to build skills in trending industry segments! RESPONSIBILITIES ● Carefully plan and execute the entire WISE Workshop Series, which includes a Member’s Orientation, 5 workshops that focus on different tangible skills that are relevant to trending business industries, and a Demo Day to wrap-up the series ● Collaborate closely with Marketing & Design team and Finance team to ensure successful planning and promotion of program series ● Manage, motivate, and lead a team of two coordinators with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities ● Ensure that there is value in the WISE member experience through having each member leave the workshop with items to add to their resume/portfolio ● Collect feedback from WISE members following the end of the Fall semester to make adjustments and plan the Spring semester workshop series REQUIREMENTS ● Excellent organization and time management skills to ensure successful planning and execution of the WISE Workshop Series program ● Ability to assess and identify current business trends within Vancouver and on a global scale that are relevant to SFU students ● Must be comfortable cold-calling or sending direct messages to potential workshop instructors through various communication platforms ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, G Suite (Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Forms) and Slack BONUS POINTS ● Previous experience leading, mentoring, and motivating a team ● Practical experience in event planning or project management (i.e. Co-op or internship) ● Has taken an introductory project management course or equivalent (i.e. BUS 361) ● Previous experience as a member of the WISE Workshop Series program 11
