Who is the tool for, and for what use? • A tool for beneficiaries in disseminating their Key Exploitable Results (KER’s) to targeted audiences and maximising their chances of being discovered by the right audiences (matchmaking) for valorisation purposes • A tool for stakeholders to engage with beneficiaries, either directly or indirectly, through enabling actors (e.g. National Contact Points), services, or other platforms, and contribute to valorising their results • A tool for the European Commission to learn from the project results and feed this knowledge into its policy formulation (“feedback to policy”) 4
What is a Key Exploitable Result ❖According to the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe text, a result is defined as: “Any tangible or intangible output of the action, such as data, knowledge and information whatever their form or nature, whether or not they can be protected, which are generated in the action as well as any attached rights, including intellectual property rights” (Source: EC Research & Innovation Participant Portal Glossary/Reference Terms) ❖ A Key Exploitable Result (KER) is an identified main interesting result (as defined above) which has been selected and prioritised due to its high potential to be “exploited” – meaning to make use and derive benefits- downstream the value chain of a product, process or solution, or act as an important input to policy, further research or education 5

Who Benefits from the Horizon Results Platform The “valorisation ecosystem” • The Results Producers • Beneficiaries of FP7, H2020, upcoming Horizon Europe, EMFF (European Maritime and Fisheries Fund) , soon EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC’s), and more … • The Results Consumers - Those who can make use of the results • Those who can invest in them for market valorisation (and profit from them) – e.g. Investors • Those who can use the knowledge stemming from them to make informed policy decisions, or further enrich scientific research or educate others – e.g. policy-makers, researchers, academia • The Brokers and Enablers - The actors (networks, tools, platforms) whose role is to contribute to and/or facilitate bringing the results to the Platform (e.g. National Contact Points) and those who bring the consumers closer to the producers of the results (e.g. EEN Advisors) 7
The Horizon Results Platform … at the core of Horizon’s valorisation ecosystem Results Producers: Horizon Results Platform, and partner platforms - CORDIS, Innovation Radar, Horizon Results Booster, Horizon Impact Award, EIC Community Platform, InvestEU, Blueinvest, ENTRANCE, Solar Impulse Foundation, … Brokers and enablers: National Contact Points, EU IP Helpdesk, Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), Technology Transfer Offices, … Consumers: EIB/EIF, Funding Organisations, Business Angels Networks, Venture Capital, RTOs, National Associations, International Organisations, add NGOs, civil society (e.g. municipalities, regions, (smart) cities) and companies (particularly SMEs) …

Horizon Results Platform TV supporting and inspiring beneficiaries Two streams (‘channels’) of audio-visual material: • Stream 1: ‘The experts say… ’ Series of interviews with experts in the field for specific knowledge sharing and practical insights, tackling the innovators’ main challenges and needs (e.g. EU IP Helpdesk, EBAN) • Stream 2: ‘Get inspired! ’ Testimonials from beneficiaries using HRP to showcase their results and their experience with the HRP, as well their personal story(ies) on how they managed to overcome the hurdles to becoming successful entrepreneurs.

Ideas for NCP roles and involvement • National Contact Points could promote the use of the Platform among their beneficiaries – NCPs’ could guide beneficiaries – training to NCP’s can be provided by the EC • National Contact Points projects could promote the HRP through presentations or webinars to their stakeholders • National Contact Points could mediate and help bring in results for EU Missions and other campaigns • National Contact Points can search the platform for results in their geographical and thematic area of interest and directly contact the beneficiaries • National Contact Points could organise local events with local stakeholders, by inviting result owners from the Horizon Results Platform for networking purposes 20
