The Vision

                    its (Europe’s) science and research
                        results faster and deeper into

Who is the tool for, and for what use?
• A tool for beneficiaries in disseminating their Key Exploitable Results
(KER’s) to targeted audiences and maximising their chances of being
discovered by the right audiences (matchmaking) for valorisation purposes
• A tool for stakeholders to engage with beneficiaries, either directly or
indirectly, through enabling actors (e.g. National Contact Points), services, or
other platforms, and contribute to valorising their results
• A tool for the European Commission to learn from the project results and
feed this knowledge into its policy formulation (“feedback to policy”)

What is a Key Exploitable Result
❖According to the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe text, a
 result is defined as:
“Any tangible or intangible output of the action, such as data, knowledge and information
whatever their form or nature, whether or not they can be protected, which are generated in
the action as well as any attached rights, including intellectual property rights”

(Source: EC Research & Innovation Participant Portal Glossary/Reference
Terms)

❖ A Key Exploitable Result (KER) is an identified main interesting result (as
defined above) which has been selected and prioritised due to its high potential
to be “exploited” – meaning to make use and derive benefits- downstream the
value chain of a product, process or solution, or act as an important input to
  policy, further research or education

Bringing more services end-to-end
• Reflection on the future services to beneficiaries (2025 and
  beyond)
• Current Horizon Results Booster (HRB) + More …
• Still very much in the reflection stage, but we may fund a study to
  get ideas:
     • Idea of “End to end”:
        • Having a single agent / service provider following on all the needs of beneficiary by liaising
with the appropriate expert, service, actor, from the very early stages of the projects all the way
          to valorisation

Horizon Results Platform

       National Contact Points and
                their role
19
Ideas for NCP roles and involvement
• National Contact Points could promote the use of the Platform among their beneficiaries –
NCPs’ could guide beneficiaries – training to NCP’s can be provided by the EC

• National Contact Points projects could promote the HRP through presentations or webinars
  to their stakeholders

• National Contact Points could mediate and help bring in results for EU Missions and other
  campaigns

• National Contact Points can search the platform for results in their geographical and thematic
area of interest and directly contact the beneficiaries

• National Contact Points could organise local events with local stakeholders, by inviting result
owners from the Horizon Results Platform for networking purposes

Horizon Results Platform

                Discussion
22
Points for discussion
• How can the Platform be improved?
• How can it better serve the beneficiaries and how
can we make it easier to use by the NCPs?
• What do you think about the ideas on NCP
  involvement?
