Our Christmas Candle Lighting Services were Page 14 Development News solemn and unique ceremonies in which individuals Page 15 Christmas Concert Recap came forward to light personalized candles to honor their loved ones. This annual service is a meaningful way to come together with friends and family. During Cornerstone of Hope’s first Grieve with Hope Virtual Christmas Concert, with the help of our supporting artists, we provided beautiful music to the community to celebrate the joy of the holiday season. Now into the new year, Cornerstone of Hope’s staff is planning many different ways in which we can be of service to grievers, many of whom have experienced isolation in the past year. The upcoming Grief Transformed workshop will be an event in which individuals can share their grief story and journey. We have established a monthly Heart of My Heart Mom’s Club group for pregnancy and infant loss. Where It is our goal that this monthly group can be an accessible way for individuals to receive support. Our Butterfly Release will come early this year, and we look flowers bloom so does hope. forward to spending that heartwarming day with our community in remembrance. Our upcoming Summer Camps are a positive reminder that some things do not change. Children – Lady Bird Johnson and teens keep growing, despite the many unexpected difficulties of the past year. For grieving children and teens, the effects of the pandemic have been especially challenging. This year’s superhero theme is a positive reminder of the radiance and promise of our youngest clients. On a personal note, we greatly miss you and we cannot wait to be with you in the coming year at our events. We also anticipate seeing our many dedicated volunteers, and we hope that circumstances will enable us to see many of you again very soon. Programs & Events HEART OF MY HEART PROGRAM A program for parents who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or loss of an infant. Following the loss of a baby, we are forever changed. You are not alone in your grief, and we understand the significant pain of loss that you are experiencing. Spiritual RISING WHILE FALLING MARIA MIRAVALLE | SPIRITUAL CARE COORDINATOR I had a teacher who used to say that the stories and movies that are the most popular always follow the same plot progression – it begins with something good, then has some terrible loss, or fall, and finishes with redemption. He proposed that this scenario resonates with us because it has been ingrained in us through the history of humanity. It was a pattern also followed by the loving life, violent death, and hope-filled rising of Jesus. grieve with RECAP virtual christmas concert The Grieve With Hope Virtual Christmas Concert premiered on Facebook and YouTube on Sunday, December 20th, 2020. Twelve artists performed Christmas songs, shared words of encouragement and brought Christmas cheer to more than 2,000 viewers.
