Course Programme We will make every effort to provide your child/children with the activity detailed in our Holiday Activity Clubs brochure. Occasionally there may be circumstances beyond our control (for example, weather or resource availability) where it may be necessary to change the content of the activity. Please be assured that all alternative or replacement activities will be of the same high standard. Photography Consent During each course we take photographs of the activities which we may then use for marketing purposes including brochures, posters and online media. The booking form will ask if you consent to your child being photographed and the images used for marketing purposes. Protection of Personal Data and General Data Protection (GDPR) Abbot’s Hill Holiday Activity Clubs fully comply with GDPR. In order to carry out its ordinary duties to children, parents and staff, the school needs to process a wide range of personal data about its members (both past and present), such as name, address, email, telephone numbers, dates of birth, medical information etc, as part of its daily operation. Easter 2020 Holiday Acitivity Clubs Holiday Activity Clubs at Abbot’s Hill School Welcome to the Abbot’s Hill School Holiday Activity Clubs, suitable for boys and girls aged between 5 and 14 years old. Operating within a safe, structured and friendly environment, the children who attend our Holiday Activity Clubs have fun, make new friends and learn new skills! Our holiday clubs run for 2 weeks at Easter and 4 weeks during the summer. Children can attend for a whole week or on a daily basis. There are supervised lunch breaks and we also run early and late clubs, enabling greater flexibility for working parents. We look forward to welcoming your children to Abbot’s Hill School Holiday Activity Clubs! Meet the Team Gill Rance Director of Holiday Activity Clubs Gill is the school’s Domestic Bursar and has worked with us for 25 years. Gill manages two departments at the school and has a variety of responsibilities, including Health and Safety. She also oversees many school and external functions and events. Gill provides a hands-on approach to ensure everything runs smoothly. Denise Agate Holiday Activity Club Administrator Denise works in the finance team at the school and has many year’s experience within finance and administration. Denise handles all the bookings and payments for the Holiday Activity Clubs and will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have. Our Staff Our staff are carefully selected for their professionalism, inspiration and enthusiasm! Many of our Holiday Club Leaders are experts in their own field and are assisted by dedicated staff employed especially for the Holiday Activity Clubs. SAS Age 10 - 14 Course Descriptions Thrilling, adventure and excitement; this action-packed course has it all! Conducted mostly outdoors in a stimulating and safe environment, it could be the start of a lifelong involvement in outdoor activities. You will learn a variety of bushcraft survival techniques including shelter-building, camouflaging, tracking, orienteering, navigation by natural means, outdoor cooking and more. Kit List: Camouflage clothing is provided but please wear suitable clothing which can get dirty, sturdy shoes/boots, trainers and spare socks Swimming Pool Fun Age 8 - 14* We are holding two of these pool fun sessions at Easter. *Although we have published an age range above, this is only a guide and owing to the depth and dynamics of the pool, the requirement is that your child is confident in the water, must be able to swim 25 metres and can tread water. If your child loves water, then these activity sessions offer lots of fun pool games, including volleyball, water polo, marco polo, fun races, creating underwater worlds, a mini rookie lifeguard session and much more! Kit list: Swimming kit, flip flops, large towel, SAS (Juniors) Age 5 - 9 shower gel/shampoo This fun SAS session for the younger children will be a mix of what we offer our older children (having removed certain activities to make it age appropriate) with a bit of woodland school thrown in! Following a well-developed course activity plan, led by an amazing leader, the children will spend quality time in the wonderful woodland playground right on our doorstep.
