HUDSON CAMPUS NEWS Introducing Tom Johnson We are excited to introduce our new chaplain to the CCHS campus. His name is Tom! He earned his Masters of Divinity from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities where he was ordained. He has an amazing resume; he has a BS in Genetics and Cell Biology from the U of M and is also a graduate of the Mayo School of Health Partnering with Related Sciences. To say the least, he has many years of experience working in healthcare. This past December (when we’re having fun!) 2017 was filled with so many was just that. AUXILIARY NEWS by Shelly DeStasio The CCH Auxiliary Committee is in full swing planning upcoming events for 2018! They kicked off the year with a Luau in January for the residents and their families. Fun was had by all as they enjoyed their Pina Coladas, fresh fruit and coconut macaroons. The Beach boys and Don Ho played in the background while everyone enjoyed visiting. One change to make note of is the Auxiliary decided to move their annual Tea Party to May 12th. They hope by hosting this event the day before Mother’s day that family will partake in a lovely afternoon of Donna S, Irene Sanderson, tea & sweet treats with their loved one. Be Donna S and Roxanne join sure to wear your tea party hat and join in for some family fun! them from 2:00-3:00 PM in the CCH Atrium. Lastly, the summer Garden Concerts & Ice Cream Socials are booked! Be sure to grab the grandkids and spend quality time with your loved one listening to great music and enjoying an ice cream treat! ACTIVITY ALLEY – PINE RIDGE by Brenda Magadanz, Director of Pine Ridge We had a wonderful time celebrating the Christmas season with music and parties. As always, Santa made a visit with special gifts for all. And we had a special treat when the Hudson High School Swing Choir sang for us. The cold weather has us holing up inside. Many of us enjoyed cheering on Team USA during the Winter Olympics. ACTIVITY ALLEY – OSCEOLA by Tia Erickson, Therapeutic Recreation/Volunteer Manager The holidays have brought us good tidings from our extended community, family and friends! The OMC Vendor Fair was a big success again this year with the help from some of our great volunteers that contribute not only their time and assistance on the sale day, but also in making homemade crafts and baked goods every year. The following is a few of the special events we enjoyed. We played in the Peace Church family bell choir concert for all ages. The Osceola High School invited us for a fantastic theater performance of “Beauty and the Beast,” which left us in awe! Santa brought us not only presents, but also the gift of joyous laughter as seen with Betty Aspenson. We also were invited to the North Pole by Mrs. Claus. Sue DeMenge and her elves served us our favorite homemade cookies and cocoa during the annual Christmas Lights Tour outing. Every year, several groups of carolers from our community reach out to CCHO with festive Christmas songs we all know and love. Many community Annual Christmas concert by youth volunteers shared their delightful musical gifts with us. This included volunteers, Olivia and Sophia the beautiful harmonies from the St. Croix Falls Chamber Choir in concert, Neinaber harp and piano concert by the Nienaber sisters, and the Brennon family volunteers played and sang their way into our hearts again this year! The team spirit stays strong within all of us, especially when sports teams along the border are playing against each other. Rose Bergenson sports her full fan wear complete with purple slippers! There is no doubt for which team she is rooting. Jolly St. Nicholas gives the gift of laughter to Betty Aspenson We are looking forward to spring when we will be out and about for special Mrs. Claus and elves serve Rose Bergenson ready events like our Vintage up cookies and cocoa on for the BIG game Auto Shows, Farm Fun Fair lights tour outing and a picnic outing to the Country Cottage Gardens.
