SALFORD STUDENT WINS COMEDY AWARD TO JOIN SUCCESSES STAND-UP LEGENDS University of Salford student, Jack Gleadow, has been crowned comedian of the year – in a competition previously won by the likes of Josh Widdicombe, Rhod Gilbert and Romesh Ranganathan, seeing the A round up of our achievements throughout the past semester. ENCOUNTERS – THE UNIVERSITY OF SALFORD’S CREATIVE ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMME The University of Salford have launched their ‘Encounters’ art programme, working with three Salford based schools to encourage young people to consider routes into higher education in the arts. Pupils from Harrop Fold, Salford City Academy and St Patrick’s High School will attend creative workshops and inspirational encounters with artists and arts professionals. The programme, which runs for the academic year, works with 22 targeted students from each school alongside Lead Artist Jack Brown to enrich their GREENPOWER ELECTRIC learning, while opening up unique opportunities in the city’s ever-growing creative sector.
