KITE- Over the years KITE was previously IT@School Project,formed in 2001, which was transformed into a Govt Enterprise in August 2017 2019- Hi-Tech Lab for 2016-2019 9941 Primary Hi-Tech school schools 2010 Project in 4752 ICT enabled Secondary education schools 2007 Complete shift started 2003 to FOSS IT made 2001 compulsory in Vision 2010 by Std 8 Task force headed by Prof.U.R.Rao
The Hi-Tech school project – A Complete ‘ecosystem’ in place 45,000 Classrooms in 4,752 Secondary schools made Hi-Tech Key Project under Public Education Rejuvenation Mission INR.493.50 Cr project 60,250 Laptops and 43,750 Projectors deployed to schools. All schools equipped with High Speed Broadband Internet Connectivity. Specific training for Teachers and Students. Online Resource Portal for Content dissemination.

We use our own teachers - Capacity Building for Teachers Expert subject teachers identified. State Resource Group and District Resource Groups formed. Trainings in Basics of IT, followed by ICT embedded teaching. Cascade model trainings. Continuous training programmes through 14 District Offices of KITE. Simultaneous trainings at over 1500 locations.
KOOL- An alternate that demonstrates our ‘Strength’ KOOL- KITE’s Online Open Learning The MOOC model training platform for Teachers • An online training platform for teachers, where they can select the training course of their choice without losing academic days. • KOOL feature animated learning assistants, video tutorials, checklists and many such. • Activity details and digital resources can be downloaded for offline practice. • 45 hour training module developed. • A platform for teachers to complete 45 hours of computer course in order to clear their probation. • Over 7000 teachers registered out of which 5411 trained so far

Broadband internet connectivity to all schools in the state of Kerala. • KITE has provided Hi-Speed Broadband Internet connectivity to all schools and educational offices, in order to facilitate ICT enabled education. • Tied up with BSNL & RailTel • 9941 LP & UP Schools • 2,900 High Schools & Offices • 2.042 HSS & VHSS • Total 13,980schools provided. • KIIFB has so far funded Rs.9.27 Cr for broadband connectivity. • KITE – 1st SPV to get funds from KIIFB.

The Hi-Tech Lab Project for LP & UP Schools Rs.292 Cr approved by KIIFB 9941 LP & UP schools to covered. Supply Orders for 55086 Laptops, USB Speakers and 23170 Multimedia issued. Deployment to start by July 2019. Tenders for 3248 42inch LED TVs and 5644 Multi- Function Printers to be released. 5 year Warranty for all ICT equipments. Support mechanisms like Webportal for Complaint redressal, Call Center facility and Insurance Coverage. Over 20 lakhs students to be benefited.

ExpEYES - “ Lab-On-Lap” - For Higher Secondary Physics
eGovernance – SAMETHAM School data bank www.sametham.kite.kerala.gov.in . An initiative from KITE to share the authentic academic and infrastructural details of Govt, Aided and Recognized UnAided schools in Kerala. Information in the portal include basic details of schools including its physical infrastructure, governing mechanisms, approved classes in each school, class wise details of students, teachers and non-teaching staff (without personal details) etc which can be used for various report generations at school, educational sub-district, educational district, revenue district and state level. School information such as infrastructure, teaching and non-teaching staff, students details for general public.
VICTERS- the complete educational channel- www.victers.itschool.gov.in • Operational since 2006- Telecasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. • Contents developed by Inhouse production teams, teachers & students. • Tie-ups with Deutsche Welle, BBC, NFDC and similar media firms.
