WEEKLY NEWS OCTOBER 13, 2021 THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE; LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT. PSALM 147:7 Greetings St. Bernadette Families, We look forward to celebrating Halloween this year with costumes and an evening Trunk-or-Treat! All students, PS-8, may wear appropriate costumes to school on Friday, October 29. Costume Expectations: Students must: arrive at school in their costumes, wear clothing under their costumes, and wear comfortable shoes. No light sabers/weapons of any kind, no face paint, hair color, masks (other than the usual cloth face coverings), and no political costumes. Students who so not follow these rules will be sent home. Our Parent Club is organizing a fun Trunk-or-Treat on Friday evening in the back parking lot. Please plan to attend for a fun evening of safe trick or treating and a few fun games. Hot cocoa, and other yummy treats will be available for purchase. Blessings, Eve Ruiz The World’s Finest Chocolate sale ended and money was due October 5. If your family did not turn money in to the school office, the balance due is added to your Smart account and will appear on the November billing. First Grade fun! Calendar It is time for the Annual Sock-Tober Fest . Warm socks donated at St. Bernadette for men, women, & children will be delivered to St. Martin de Porres Men's Shelter, Providence Regina House, and Seattle Tent City. Socks may be brought to Mass or school; please put them in the bins in the vestibule ar church or bring to the school office. October 15 School closed, teacher in-service October 29 , Trunk or Treat! EXTENDED DAY COST INFORMATION HERE. Extended Day hours: open at 7:00 AM and close after school at 6:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Extended Day fees are billed through SMART. Extended Day is located in the Parish Hall - students will enter and exit there, off the front parking lot. Covid vaccination If you or your student have been vaccinated for Covid, please complete this form . Campus volunteers/visitors must have their information on file with this form to enter school. FROM THE PARENT CLUB Thank you to all our Trunk hosts! Slots are full! Looking forward to seeing everyone at St. Boo-nadette's first ever Trunk or Treat Fall Event on Oct 29! There will be food, warm drinks, 29 raffle prizes & lots of fun for the entire family. We still need volunteers and/or donations to make this an extra special event. TUITION ASSISTANCE GRANTS (TAP GRANTS) FROM THE DIOCESE The Fulcrum Tuition Assistance Grant Program is designed for families and students currently enrolled or applying for the next school year in any Catholic school, grades K-12, in the Archdiocese of Seattle. A family must apply each year through FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment to qualify for a grant—all awards are made based on financial need. Online Application Opens: 10/1/2021 Applications Due : 1/7/2022 NEED A UNIFORM PIECE? WE ARE OPEN FIRST FRIDAYS OF EVERY MONTH, 3:00-3:45 PM Thank you to all the families who have donated uniforms to the Uniform Closet! We now have a bigger variety of sizes available! If you were previously unable to find the right size, please email me what you need for your student and I will create a request list. Then, when your item becomes available, I will save it for you to pick up. Each lightly used item sells for $5 and all proceeds benefit St. Bernadette School. The Uniform Closet is open the first Friday of every month, 3:00-3:45 PM, located in the upper building across from the Music room. Lots of creativity on display in the lower building hallway! PARISH LIFE Altar Servers, Readers, and Ushers needed at Masses We are a community of faith and our faith is enhanced by serving our church. CYO Athletics Soccer - GO PANTHERS! Athletics Krispy Kreme Fundraiser is now running. Purchase boxes of a dozen original glazed doughnuts, or certificates to redeem later, for $10 each. Pick up doughnuts on Saturday, October 9 at St. Bernadette soccer field!
