Our Mission Children across South Carolina deserve a quality education regardless of where they are born and raised. The Original Six Foundation works to improve education by identifying gaps and filling them through hands on engagement and resources. Foundation Overview Every child in every community in South Carolina does not have access to the same educational opportunities. So Nikki Haley founded the Original Six Foundation to help fill the gaps. We work with schools, teachers and community members to identify needs. Then we address them in practical ways. We provide funding, and we often develop and help implement customized programs. And we monitor impact—not just in test scores but through child-by-child advancement. It is direct and focused work, and it is how lives and futures are changed. Since partnering with rural schools in 2016, the Original Six Foundation has served over 16,000 children. While engaging over 300+ certified teachers throughout the state, we have provided over 13,000 of hours of homework assistance.
