BUSINESS HEALTH
01 Q1 showed a usual level of activity, even for traditional and high-speed rail transportation which is boosted by environmental
programmes, mainly in the EU. Most activities in Q1 referred to urban mobility, as well as to rolling stock production and delivery,
where the pandemic crisis does not seem to impact much on the number or volumes of business deals.

02 A natural decline in total amount of investments was observed with lower than before levels of interstate and institutional financing

In Q1 no “traditional” interstate loans were announced, but there was an important credit facility from UK Export Finance for the
consortium of Bombardier Transportation (leader), Orascom Construction and Arab Contractors for Egyptian project.
Loans of development institutions in Q1 were relatively low in volumes. A one from EIB for Cairo and Alexandria urban rail projects
