ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS • 18 years of age by commencement of freshman year • 12 years of formal education • Good national and international qualifications • Applicants applying with international qualifications (except IB Diploma) are required to submit one of the following: SAT or ACT or IELTS or TOEFL How To Apply Applications open in October and close in March of the following year. Academic Calendar There is one freshman intake a year, starting in August. Classes are conducted in three academic terms spread over the year. Term 1 Term 2 Term 3* August–November January–April End April–July (15 weeks) (15 weeks) SMU’s undergraduate programmes are conducted on campus on a full-time basis. *T erm 3 or Special Term falls during the university vacation period. A limited number of courses are offered during this term.
