The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has established a national program titled the Science Undergraduate Laboratory
Internship (SULI). Under it, Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and other labs offer student appointments for spring,

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program
SURF is a 10 week research experience that supports undergraduate students for the summer at Boston University.
Participants from institutions across the country are paired with BU faculty members who will serve as their research mentors.

Research Internships at Marine Science at Wood Hole, MAThis program is hosted by Boston University. Undergraduates who have decided on a career in marine sciences are

The UNC Department of Pharmacology annually sponsors a competitive summer undergraduate research fellowship
program for rising seniors in undergraduate science programs. (Other students will be considered, although with
lower priority). This program is designed to give students planning a career in the biomedical sciences an
opportunity to conduct research under the direction of a research pharmacologist. Training in the Carolina Summer
Fellowship Program includes hands-on research conducted by the student in the laboratory of a supervising faculty
member, a weekly seminar program to acquaint the student with projects and research activities of the entire faculty,
and culminates in a colloquium where all students present brief reports on their summer research projects. In
addition, the program offers a variety of enrichment and recreational activities, including a visit to local
