The International Engineering Programme The International Engineering Programme (IEP) between Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin and Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology offers students an international educational experience. The two institutions have developed a 2+2 credit transfer programme which gives students admitted to undergraduate engineering programmes at TIET the opportunity to study and graduate from Trinity. About Engineering at Trinity The School of Engineering at Trinity was established in 1841 and is the oldest engineering school in the English-speaking world. The School has a strong philosophy of research- led teaching and offers outstanding teaching by engineers who are at the forefront of their field worldwide. The Computer Engineering and Electronic and Computer Engineering specialisations are led by the School of Computer Science and Statistics. The School is noted for establishing Computer Science as an academic discipline in Ireland, with a rich history in the development of world-class research and teaching, as well as many successful start-up companies. The Programme Structure The first two years, taught in TIET, introduce the different facets of engineering, including introductory courses in Engineering, Science and Mathematics. From third year onwards, students have the opportunity in Trinity to broaden and deepen their knowledge and understanding of their chosen specialism. Admission Requirements Admission to the TIET-Trinity International Engineering Programme is based purely on academic merit. TIET students who have successfully completed two years in the Thapar Bachelor of Engineering Programme and have secured a CGPA >7.0 (and with no outstanding backlog exams) may apply to be admitted as full time fee paying students at Trinity. Admission to the first two years of the programme will be made as per the entry requirements of TIET.
