Purpose of Design Discussion 1. Reaffirm current direction on community design as expressed through the current General Plan and development standards 2. Understand the preferences of Fountain Valley residents, businesses, and property owners on how to best enhance the visual experience of living, working, and shopping in Fountain Valley
Meeting Objectives What this meeting will do: – Inform priorities for public improvements – Ensure that new development is compatible with surrounding uses – Establish guidance so that new development creates vibrant places What this meeting will not do: – Determine specific development standards • mixed-use and high-density residential • individual opportunity sites

What is Community Design? - Shaping physical character of Fountain Valley - Look and feel of the buildings, streets, and spaces in between - Focuses on creating places rather than individual projects
Who do we design for? People – all ages – all abilities – all modes of travel Occupants – residents – tenants – employees Visitors – local customers – tourists – passing by
